My husband and I stayed here on a Saturday night. We were in Detroit for a Tigers Baseball game. The hotel is very impressive. Tall, sleek and visually satisfying. We had a King room with a partial view of the river. The room was nice, a little on the small side, but the bedding was luxurious and... read full review »

I had scheduled this stay for a business trip to Detroit with my daughter. I had never stayed at a Marriott and looked forward to staying there. When we pulled in, we were informed by the that the valet parking was 20.00 and we could have our car anytime we wanted. If we chose the parking across... read full review »

This hotel provides easy access to downtown attractions via the People Mover tram. But it does not offer a free shuttle to the airport! I know Detroit is automobile central, but no shuttle? Come on. BTW, the nearby Marriott Courtyard does have a shuttle, I believe. The views from, and location of, this hotel cannot be beaten if downtown is your destination. The secondary staff, such as concierge, valet, etc were a little wobbly.., and the captive restaurant a little short of Marriott standards. The rooms were fine, with great views, and the interconnection with the GM buildings nice, if architecturally... read full review »

The Renaissance Center Marriott is an extremely people friendly atmosphere. Everyone was very helpful in finding everything throughout the building. The rooms are large and the beds are EXTREMELY comfortable. The entire hotel is immaculate at all times of the day. The Renaissance Center is located in an excellent location along the river and the Detroit People Mover, making it very easily accessable from anywhere in the city. I would highly recommend anyone traveling to Detroit to stay at the Renaissance Center, whether you are traveling for business or pleasure. It truely is the nicest hotel... read full review »

My friend and I flew to Detroit for the first time this month. We had a wonderful time. The hotel was beautiful and there was so much to do. My only complaint is that if you are going to make your hotel 100% smoke free you should have some kind of shelter for those of us who choose to smoke. Detroit is windy and cold and our room was on the 41st floor. With no smoking rooms, which I also disagree with, it was a huge hassel to smoke, especially late at night.

Dining: Short Walk, Niki's Greek restarant is right downt the street. Great gyros for a great price.

Good Value and the location is perfect for watching a MLB, NFL, or NHL Game. All within walking distance, or a short ride on the People Mover.

Entertainment: Short Walk, Detoit Tigers, Red Wings, and Lions. Also close to the Greektown Casino.
