Both of my poor babies got diaper rash so easily ( one of them is still in diapers). I have bought this product as well as the desitin creamy many times. I love it. The ointment is gentle and really can go anywhere not just diapers. If the baby, child or adult has a tiny cut or super cracked hands then go ahead and use it. Many stores carry this product. It is not the cheapest product on the market, but sometimes coupons and store sales are available. The ointment works well. It does not irritate my baby's skin. A lot of it comes ion each tube too. I don't have a re-buy it very often. Desitin has a greta reputation as well. i know that I will buy this again and I do recommend it to everyone who has little ones in the house.

I love Desitin Multi-Purpose ointment.  The ointment is so nice because it does not get everywhere like the white paste and it is easy to use and clean up.  The Desitin ointment also works really well.  The ointment clears diaper rash right up.  I always get a little frustrated with white paste after using this clear ointment.  It makes your life easier, which is huge with little babies.  We use it mostly at night when there will not be many diaper changes.  We also use it if there appears to be a diaper rash starting and it always clears right up.  I love that it is easy on our babies skin and does not make a disaster.  It can be found at drug stores and it is not very expensive.  I believe the Desitin ointment can be used for other things, but we have only used it for diaper rash.  I am glad someone told me about this product or else I would still be using the white messy stuff. It also contains Vitamins A and D. It's a great product.

Desitin clear multipurpose ointment is a must have in the house. I love it. I originally bought this product to help prevent diaper rash on one of my childen even though they have never had it. This ointment has a vaseline texture feel and look it. It's not thick but goes on smooth. I also use this ointment on my heels because they sometimes can become dry. I simply apply this to my heel after a shower and my heels look great. No more dry chapped ashy skin. I also use this ointment on my lips to help prevent dryness. It doesn't have a taste to it and it doesn't leave a sticky residue/feel behind. I'm sure this ointment can be used for many things and so far it works great for what I use it for. The only downside is desitin multipurpose ointment is a little on the expensive side but a majority of desitin products are. I would recommend this product and will continue to purchase it. Also tubes are a little on the small side.

My husband and I have two children under three years old and having used several ointments for diaper rash, we both agree that we find the J&J Desitin Multi-Purpose Ointment our favorite.  I definitely prefer the clear ointment over the white creamy ones in applying it.  It definitely creates a barrier from moisture (as trying to wash it off your hands with just water doesn't work very well) and helps protect the sensitive skin of a newborn from the seemingly constant wet/dirty diapers.  We don't apply the ointment with every diaper change as the lack of rash is unnessary.  In addition to the preventing or healing the rash of the skin, I appreciate the packaging.  It comes in a nice squeeze bottle with a flip cap and sits upright on the cap, making it easy to find amongst all the other diapering necessities at the changing table.  This product is most similar to a petroleum jelly but a little stiffer.  I will continue to stock this ointment as long as I'm diapering little ones.

I like it but I dont love it. I first tried it recently I got it clearance at the drugstore recently and chose it because the store was all out of aquaphor healing ointment and they looked similar. Wrong. I like destin original but this clear desitin dosent appear to work as well as the white pasty stuff in my opinion. My son still had the rash two days later and I once again had to purchase a product to help calm the rash. It may work better if used at first sign of redness that I cant say because my son had already started devoloping a rash when we started to use it. I think I expected it to work just as the white desitin and I was slightly dissappointed in the clear one. I love most products by desitin but I would say I dont really love this one,Sorry. It does work well on cuts and scrapes, I have used it a couple of times lately for that because I figured it was ointment and would help and it definatly did.BUt as far a butt rash cream?I think i will stick to my old brands.

Desitin is a very wonderful product.  This diaper rash cream helps to not only heal skin rashes; it also prevents diaper rashes if used when reddness first appears.  I would definitely recommend Desitin to other moms.  There diaper rash cream keeps baby's skin soft and healthy.  The clear desitin is even better better than white creams because it blends in well with my baby's skin.  Desitin is also a great value; it is very reasonably priced.  So I feel like I get value and quality with this product.  My baby's skin stays free from rashes and skin irritations.  I put Desitin on at the first sign of reddness; and this cream does not let me down.
