An effective pimple treatment.

5

I have really great results with this desert essence blemish stick when I use it to spot treat really bad, inflamed pimples that crop up now and then on my face. Some people find the smell way too strong and a little too medicinal, but I really like it. I use tea tree oil quite a bit as well, and it smells very similar to that. I find that it works really quickly at reducing the size as well as the redness of my pimples. The box states that you may have to apply more than a few times before you start to see good results, but my results were almost immediate. After applying this at night on problem areas, I wake up and have significantly clearer skin where the breakouts were. It is very effective, but also not at all harsh and does not dry my skin out too bad. I find the application in the form of a stick to be very convenient and quick as well. I always keep this around for pimple emergencies because nothing works quicker at healing my breakouts.

Blemish touch stick magic!

It works ok for acne but I liked it even better for mosquito bites. It comes in a roll on bottle so application is super easy and it is not very big so you can keep it in your purse, pocket, glovebox, back pack, wherever. Effectiveness It works better on smaller surface zits than deeper ones. It helped a little with a few of my cystic acne spots but it didn't make them go away, so it's not as great for that. It can also dry out your skin if you use it too much, so be aware of that. Ease of Application Hello! It's in a roller! How much easier can it get! It's easy to take anywhere- even hiking/camping. So great for bug bites! I actually ended up using it more for bug bites than acne. Convenience Again, it's in a roller tube thingy- super easy and convenient! And it's not a bulky product so you can easily tote it along with you wherever you go! You probably wouldn't want to take it on a date though- it's a tad on the pungent side. Side Effects It sometimes stings a little but not bad. The smell is not really pretty- Tea tree oil stinks but it's great stuff! It can also dry your skin out a bit.

Strong formula and unsanitary design.

Desert Essence Blemish Touch Skin isn't my favorite blemish treatment product by far. The formula is strong and powerfully potent...a little too much so. I believe the tea tree oil listed in the ingredients is responsible for the overpowering nature of this blemish treatment. Tea tree oil is normally hailed as a natural, soothing oil to gently repair your skin, but I've found that it's not sensitive skin friendly. If you have oily skin, then this product may work for you. However, if you are like me and have sensitive skin, it's not the best option. This blemish touch stick can irritate your skin and you must be careful to check that it's not doing more harm than good. Plus, it seems like applying this to your blemishes would make bacteria collect on the rollerball applicator. Yikes! Yes, your acne might dry out, but so will your skin. The redness and irritation make me stay away from this product. Effectiveness A little too strong. Ease of Application Rolls on easily, but how sanitary is it to keep rolling it onto blemish after blemish over time? Just imagine all the bacteria it collects. Side Effects Irritation.

Smells nice and is all natural, but not effective for treatment.

I didn't feel this product helped my acne at all. I had pregnancy-related acne, and I tried this product to help reduce the inflammation and redness of my pimples. The product was completely ineffective. Effectiveness This product didn't even touch my acne. It was not effective at all as a spot treatment because my skin, and pimples, didn't respond to it at all. Ease of Application This product was easy to apply. With the convenient roll-on applicator, application of the product was simple and clean. The liquid inside was runny if I wasn't careful, but overall, this was extremely easy to use. Convenience The blemish spot treatment was convenient because I could take it on-the-go. It fit in my pocket, so I could take it everywhere with me. Side Effects I experienced no side effects due to use of this product. Sometimes acne products cause dry skin, but I did not experience this when I used the product. Immediacy There were no results so there was no immediacy.

Gentlest Spot Treatment

This is my most usable spot treatment. I have deep blemishes that are hard to treat, but my skin is extremely sensitive to chemicals. Benzyl Peroxide causes chemical burns, salacylic acid causes redness pain and peeling. Herbal/natural treatments are the only types I can use on a regular basis, and this is by far my favorite. Its easy to store, use, and it works on pimples that I can't help but rupture. I adore this product for sensitive skin, but I think it would be a great product for anyone. It is the only product I have ever found that I can apply for more than two days in a row, in fact I can apply it consistency and it won't hurt my skin. It's even an inexpensive product, which never hurts. Effectiveness Nothing can ever treat my blemishes overnight. Nothing. Side Effects None whatsoever, unless you count smelling like witch hazel for a few minutes. Immediacy About as well as its chemical counterparts.

This Blemish Touch Stick works w/frequent application!

When I was a teenager, I had great skin.  As an adult, my skin is changing and I am prone to getting the occasional pimple on my chin area.  I have tried many products, both natural and unnatural to clear up these blemishes, but nothing has worked effectively until now. **Desert Essence Blemish Touch Stick** is made with all natural ingredients, paraben-free, isn't tested on animals and is made in the U.S.A.  Desert Essence says this product, "is a combination of nine natural extracts and essential oils specifically blended together in order to leave skin looking clear and radiant." According to the packaging, you could use this product for insect bites and skin irritations in addition to blemishes.  Some of the ingredients are: witch hazel extract, tea tree oil, alcohol, calendula extract, chamomile extract and rosemary extract. I chose this product over many others because I am planning to become pregnant soon, so I have to avoid salicylic acid while pregnant.  Most acne products contain salicylic acid, and this one does not.  Tea tree oil is the active ingredient in this product that is an antibacterial/anti-fungal ingredient and is what is aiding in clearing the blemishes. Since this does contain tea tree oil, this stuff does stink, but it's worth it.  I will continue to buy this product and would recommend it to anyone seeking natural acne products, or pregnant woman, who should avoid salicylic acid. Ease of Application I love how easy it is to apply since you just roll the roller ball over the area, but it does leak sometimes. Convenience Desert Essence Blemish Touch Stick comes in a small glass bottle with a roller ball for application - kind of like a mini roll-on deodorant, that you apply to your problem spots. Side Effects It didn't burn, but I didn't have any sores on my face either. Use it each day until your blemish is gone and the area might get a little dry, but I would rather deal with a little dry skin than with blemishes. Immediacy The directions say to use this product 5-6 times a day, and when I have a blemish, I do.  The next day, my blemish is severely reduced!

The smell is incredibly repelling--which is unfortunate.

I bought this blemish stick to compare it to Burt's Bee's blemish stick. My first impression was the smell...and it was heinous. All I could think was--this better work because I just rolled this stuff on all over my face and smell like death. As of now, the smell is still repulsive to me but I can't say that it doesn't work. But if I had to choose--I'd stick to Burt's Bees for the scent alone. I can handle licorice/tea tree oil but this is gross. Even my boyfriend was wondering what the stench was...

A Must Have That Works Beautifully

Desert Essence makes great products; but their Blemish Touch Sticks are like magic.  This product is so great that I buy them in multiples, and keep one in each purse, my desk at work, and my bathroom at home.  The product is a small perfume-like glass tube filled with a tincture, and fitted with a rolling ball tip.  If you find that you are suddenly starting to get a breakout, you simply remove the cap and roll the ball on the problem area to apply a little of the tincture.  That is all you need to do - the blemish will simply never show up after that.  Never!  The tube contains a good amount of product and lasts a long time, but the size is truly small and convenient enough to carry in one's cosmetic bag.  I also like the fact that the frosted glass tube makes it easy to see how much product is left, so I can tell when I need to buy more.  The product holds up fine over time; it never seems to go bad, nor does it evaporate leading to wasted money (like many similar products do).  It smells like tea tree oil, which I like; but even if you don't much care for that scent, don't worry, as the scent quickly dissipates.  You can feel it working but it's certainly not harsh, just a tad tingly (and I have sensitive skin).  I also like to use this product if my skin feels excessively oily on some days - I pat with an oil absorbing paper or the like, and then run this product quickly and lightly around the "T" (oily) facial zones.  It's very refreshing, like a 5-second mini facial.

I love this product

I recently switched from conventional personal care products to natural versions of the products.  I love the convenience of the applicator and the refreshing scent.  It's available at my local grocery store, which is great because I don't have to make a special trip to buy it.
