I recently purchased the DermaNew Microdermabrasion kit for $75.00 at a local salon that does professional microdermabrasion treatments.
There are MANY microdermabrasion kits out there for 1/3 the price that you can get at any local drug store but this is the same product that was used for my professional treatments. I could have spent less but would not expect the same excellent results so why bother.
Basically, the kit I purchased is the Acne & Oil Clarifying System but i believe there are others based on your individual skin needs. The active ingredient is salicyclic Acid 1.0%. It works to reduce inflammation and bacteria as it refines, soothes and clarifies acne-prone skin. It also reduces the appearance of pore size, discoloration and minor imperfections. It leaves your skin feeling silky smooth and you notice the difference even as you apply liquid foundation.
It's recommended use is every other day for 2 minutes. It has a built-in timer so you don't exceed the time. It comes with a small facial foam applicator along with 1 body foam applicator to use on larger areas but I only use it on my face.
You apply the cream to multiples areas of your face and using upward, circular motion and gentle pressure work the cream into your skin. Then rinse, careful not to get into your eyes.
I am fair skinned- of Irish descent, and have rosacea. I was worried using this product would cause discomfort, inflammation of either my acne or rosacea skin problems but it has done nothing but improve my skin's overall look and tone. I am 43 years old, by the way.
