We recently took in a litter of six 5-week old Lhasa Apso-mix puppies.  They are full of energy and don't like to be left alone in their exercise pen, but their teeth are just coming in  and their little mouths are too tiny for most puppy toys.  I bought dozens of packages of rawhide toys last week at PetSmart when I saw them marked down to just $1 each in some kind of clearance sale.  I didn't really know how much use we'd get out of the Dentley's 3" Basted Bone-Shaped Beef Rawhide Chips until we picked up the puppies and I saw just how teeny tiny they were.

These dog chews are punched out of thin pieces of American beef rawhide into bone-shaped pieces and basted with a beef-flavored coating.  They are thin enough for our baby puppies to chew on without any trouble.  I've also given them to the two 10-week old terrier-mix puppies that we also took in.  Those guys are much larger than the babies, but these chews still took them about an hour to destroy.  These chews wouldn't be appropriate for adult dogs or large puppies, but they work well for us with this batch of foster pups.

I paid just $1 per package for Dentley's 3" Basted Bone-Shaped Beef Rawhide Chips.  Each pack contains 30 pieces, so it was an incredible bargain.  I toss a few of these chews into the ex-pen with the babies and then can throw them away if they wind up covered in puppy poop without feeling like I'm not getting my money's worth.  I actually wish I had picked up more than two bags of these rawhide chews because they are perfect for our Lhasa-mix puppies.  I will be swinging by PetSmart in the next few days to see if I can find more.  Recommended!

Thanks for the review. I volunteer a local animal disaster group and I'm always looking for good teethers and chewies for puppies. Usually all they have are the blankets and towels that are in their cages. They're always so happy when I throw them new chewies. I found a great one they loved called Kong Wubba's that are amazing and have different sizes for puppies.

Those pics are amazing. Our friends have a Lhasa Apso. They recently rescued him at 6 months old and he's a doll. Thanks for the review of these. Wonder if Hanna would take to them. She is SOOO picky!
