Don't Waste Your Money

1

While on vacation last year, I lost a filling. I was in awful pain and couldn't find a dentist available as it was a Sunday. I made a trip to the closest pharmacy to buy some toothache liquid. While looking for something to subdue the pain, I ran across Dentemp Maximum Hold O.S. Adhesive. The packaging seemed to make this stuff sound so wonderful. I was in so much pain that I was willing to try anything. I did purchase and tried to use the product. I followed the directions on the package. I found that the Dentemp was hard to keep in place and didn't seem to help me any. The adhesive had an awful taste that left my mouth feeling very chalky. I feel as I wasted my money on this product. It didn't seem to do anything for me. I ended up just throwing the rest of the Dentemp in the trash. I would not purchase Dentemp Maximum Hold O.S. Adhesive again and would definitely not recommend it to anyone.

Dentemp, great temporary tooth repair!

The crown on one of my molars recently came off as I was eating and I was horrified that I might have to deal with terrible tooth pain and damage until I could get in to see my dentist.  I rushed to the pharmacy looking for toothache meds and found Dentemp.  It is an adhesive/ filler that can be used to temporarily replace crowns or fill in a lost filling until you can see your dentist.  Dentemp also contains medication that helps to relieve any pain you might experience with your lost filling or crown.

A few years ago when we were preparing for a trip to Munich I stopped by our local drug store to pick up travel items and noticed a box of **DENTEMP O.S.** The box sold me on the product. Advertising no mixing, instant pain relief and repair of both loose caps and lost fillings, I bought three boxes- one box for each car and one for our home. Having worked at a dental office through high school and into college, I have seen many emergency visits to the dental office. Hurting people from in and out of town looking for relief, crying people who just want the pain to stop. Although, I couldn't feel what they were feeling I decided that I would do everything I could to never be put in that position. That said, even with careful, regular, personal hygiene of brushing and flossing, there may come a time when even the most committed dental care person may find themselves with a loose cap or a lost filling. **DENTEMP O.S. **name is easy to break down in meaning. Dent for dental, Temp for temporary and O.S. for one step. The no mix formula is convenient and even the most novice user can feel confident in using the product to fasten loose dental work, ease pain caused by dental breakage and to fill any lost filling. The product is safe and effective; so much so that it advertises people being able to eat on the repaired area. **Bottom Line:** We have stored **DENTEMP O.S. **for several years now. We have never had to use it, but, knowing we have the product "just in case" gives us peace of mind. A few months ago I was out with a friend for dinner. She bit down and cried out in pain. She had lost a filling and swallowed it. I told her not to worry and retrieved the **DENTEMP O.S. **from the car. She went into the restroom, filled the hole and returned to finish her dinner. She called her dentist the next morning and was able to resume life. It was simple and easy and did I mention, "painfree"? **Warning: ** ***DENTEMP O.S.** is not a long term solution. It is to be used as a temporary fix until you can see your dentist and it will most likely not provide relief from the pain of infection.***** **Ingredients**: Dimethoxytetraethylene Glycol, Ethyl Methacrylate, Calcium Sulphate, Zinc Oxide, Barium Sulphate, and Eugenol.

Dentemp Maximum Hold O.S. - Did Not Do The Job!

2

I have had a lot of dental work done over the years due to dry mouth from a medication I take. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to have most of my teeth capped.  Along with this project I had to have over ten root canals! My daily dental care must be meticulous to keep my gums and caps as clean as they can be. Even though I am very careful, caps do become loose and the Dentist must glue them back in. My Dentist gave me an emergency supply of glue to keep at home. When I ran out on a weekend and needed to glue a cap back on I found "Thin-Set" at a local superstore. I used the Thin-Set and glued my cap back on before I saw the Dentist on a Monday. He could not get my cap back off to re-glue it with his cement! Thin-Set is no longer sold, in stores or online. I researched, and found DenTemp Maximum Hold O.S.  An easy one step procedure as the instructions on the box implied, was true. But it did not hold my cap in securely enough for me to eat a meal confidently. I could feel a slight movement in my cap as I chewed my food. I took the cap off again, cleaned it, and dried the areas as the instructions read. When I reapplied the product and replaced my cap again I could not get it to feel secure. On my visit to the Dentist again, he told me I could have used chewing gum (Trident) to get the same result as this product. Now I do use the gum, which is much less expensive until I can get to the Dentist. Dentemp Maximum Hold O.S. seems to be a product to use only if you can get to the Dentist within hours. I would not purchase this product again. The best solution is to get to the Dentist as soon as possible so He/She can professionally re-glue your cap back into place. Caps come loose for many reasons, and there may be bacteria present which originally caused the cap to come off. Usually, an x-ray is needed from the experiences I have had. The Dentist has the tools to replace the cap securely and give you peace of mind.

My wedding day was finally here.  The stress of the day was making me grind my teeth.  Two hours before the ceremony my filling came out of my tooth.  I panicked!  How was I going to enjoy my day if I was having such pain in my tooth. My maid of honor told me she saw a commercial showing a product called Dentemp O.S.  She said this product was for lost fillings.  She sent her brother out to the local pharmacy with the direct instructions to get this Dentemp O.S. He got back.  I opened the little blue vial.  I followed the directions and applied some of this mixture into the hole of my tooth.  This product really worked.  It helped me and saved my special day. To ensure no more surprises, I had one packed in my bag, to take on my honeymoon. Awesome product at a fraction of the cost of a dentist.
