Loved this until it broke.

This was the best ice cream maker that I had ever had, it was so great and so much fun for my whole family to use together, it brought us all together and we spent a lot of time making ice cream and having ice cream sundae parties. This gives you the old time feel of making ice cream, it has the handle on it that you have to manually turn round and round so that you can turn your ingredients into the ice cream. It comes with a book that has all kinds of different recipes so you can make so many flavors and even frozen yogurt. I love that this has a candy crusher on it, it makes it so much fun to put your candy bar in it and make it crushed up into tiny little pieces that you can sprinkle into the ice cream or put on top of it. This lasted our family a long time, but it did eventually break with the handle popping off. This ice cream machine holes a large amount and makes enough for quite a few people in a very short amount of time, it is great for a family and leaves you with a lot of fun memories.

I think this is something cute to buy for the kids, but I will say, it is a workout for your hands. It is so tiny that your hand is already in a weird spot and your already sore from having to churn and having the handle be so small makes your hand cramp up a bit more. Performance This was a present so I didn't mind having to churn myself, but if I ever decide to buy an ice cream maker for myself I will get the self churning one, it will be worth it! Durability I have used it a couple times and every time I have put it in the dishwasher. I recently pulled it out of the cabinet and saw mold on it, so I guess it takes a lot to clean it. Ease of Use After a while it does begin to cramp your hand up and if there is a child waiting on you, they may be waiting a while. Ease of Cleaning Again, I am going to have to say it takes a bit to clean it up after. Capacity It doesn't really make that much ice cream at a time. Design It looks cute, but nothing I would want to leave out on the shelf.

Yummy! Ice Cream!

I bought this ice cream maker over a year ago and it's been sitting on my shelf, taking up space, never has it been used. Then I was visiting my mom and see had just made some ice cream with a similar more expensive machine. Her's was so so good and creamy I decided to give it a shot with mine. I prepared in advance, I read all of the directions so I wouldn't mess up, put my bowl in the freezer, mixed up all the ingredients and stuck them in the fridge to get nice and cold then I was ready to wait! The next day, which happened to be a Saturday I got up and made my ice cream. You have to turn the machine on, then pour in your ice cream mix. I let mine go for around 30 minutes and it was softer than I wanted so I put it in the freezer for a few hours to firm up. SO SO Tasty! I made the vanilla ice cream from the recipe in the booklet you get with the machine. I feel like this is a great machine for the price, I'm thrilled. My husband is a skeptic, he wants me to get the "old fashioned" machine you use salt and ice in but I'm holding out, I love this little one. So much easier!

Not enough bang for my buck!

I am a food lover. You could say that i have not met a food that i do not like. So when i found this really cute pink , because i love the color pink, ice cream maker online in a mail order company that i have ordered from before, i was excited. It was a Deni Ice cream maker. It was a raspberry pink and looked super cute in the photos. It did come in other colors though. Anyways, i waited for my treat maker to arrive and when i got it was eager as a beaver to open it up. However when i opened it up i was very disappointed to find that i was going to have to wait for quite a while till i could even use my ice cream maker. It was very misleading in its description as it no where said i would have to wait for the inside bowl to get cold in the freezer. I have never made ice cream before so i was all prepared since it was electric for it to just plug in and go. No you have to take out the bowl, put it in a DEEP FREEZER, as my regular freezer apparently wasnt good enough, and wait. And so we did. And then we finally were ready. We get everything ready. We read the directions over and over making sure we are NOT missing any steps, and make our ice cream. But while we are waiting and watching we notice its not doing anything like it says it should be doing. We read the directions again to make sure we had gotten all the ingredients, made sure all the amounts were correct, and yes we had followed it to a T. However this ice cream was not getting thick. And i dont like runny ice cream. So we read some more and it said if we wanted it to be more like an ice cream consistancy ( well yes thats why i bought the ice cream maker and not a yogurt smoothy thing) then we would now need to put it in the freezer AGAIN and wait. By now im irritated because its been almost 2 days and still no ice cream. So we take it out and put it in the freezer. We waited like the directions said and went and checked on it. And lo and behold the ICE CREAM WAS STILL RUNNY. I was so mad. This is not what i expected nor wanted for 60.00 plus ice cream maker. Not only was i now out the shipping on this thing but i didnt know if the place would take it back as it had been used. I decided to give it another chance thinking maybe the milk wasnt cold enough, or the cream wasnt right. I went and bought more items to make this ice cream. I tried a different recipe even as well. We used this machine 3 times total. Each time we had to wait and put the bowl into the freezer to start all over. Each time the ice cream was more like ice cream soup. This is the worst product ever. I do not reccommend this unless you dont mind that your ice cream can be put in a glass and you can drink it through a straw. On the other hand, the clean up was pretty easy. However, the parts to it were very unstable and you had to be very careful you didnt drop something while you were transporting it anywhere. The lids and the stir spoons did not like to fit properly inside the bowl area and you sort of had to force them in there. They did come off easiy and most parts were very easy to clean up. I wouldnt reccommend using anything but your hands and a dish towel to clean though. And the ice cream maker itself is rather loud as well. So i wouldnt reccommend it at night unless you all sleep upstairs and your kitchen is isolated. I just was not happy with this product. It is small and compact though. But that was another downside. It only made so many quarts of ice cream at a time. If you wanted more you either had to make sure you had all the ingredients ready to go because if not the bowl would get too thawed out and you would have to wait till it refroze itself which could take over 24 hours depending on how cold your freezer is. All in all i wouldnt ever buy this product again. It is not a good quality machine like you would think it would be for the amount of money you pay for it. The shipping on it was too expensive and then i had to ship it back as well. The booklet that it came with has a lot of recipes but the ingredients are expensive and im better off just going to the grocery store and buying a premium ice cream then trying to buy everything needed to make a small thing of ice cream that doesnt even taste or look like ice cream. Oh and not only that but the motor itself will burn itself out if you are not careful. We were told this as well when i called and emailed about sending it back. They asked us if the motor had burnt out and i said no and they told me good because it was not replaceable.
