I am a firm believer that good dental hygiene is important not just for cosmetic reasons but for our overall health. If you factor in the cost of dental care, then good dental hygiene is not just healthy and cosmetic, it is down right financially sound as well. It 's one thing to floss your own teeth but flossing kids' teeth is a hole new ball of yarn - or used to be. Wrapping strands of floss around your fingers and then trying to fit your fingers into a childs' mouth isn't fun for either of you.

I do know how "fun" it is to floss kids' teeth with DenTek Fun Flossers but it sure makes the task more attractive to kids and easier on parents. DenTek Fun Flossers with Flouride come in a pack of 36. We find them for $2.99 at Walgreens. The Fun Flossers come in four bright colors (orange, yellow, green and purple) that give kids a "choice" in the matter. The handles are angled for easy access and have grippers that make them easier to hold.

Crayola also makes Kids' Flossers. Yes, that's Crayola, the crayon and art supply favorite. Crayola Kids' Flossers come in three colors (pink, blue and green) and have 30 per pack. They are also $2.99 at Walgreens. The handles are not angled and they do not have the grippers. We have used them as well and they worked just fine. I go for the DenTek Fun Flossers because they offer me six more per pack and are made with flouride.

Of course, the same product is available in white from several companies. Those usually have around 75 per pack for the price of $2.99 so parents are paying double for the pleasure of kid friendly colors.

My Viewpoint:

DenTek Fun Flossers with Flouride, in 4 cool colors, costs more than white but gets the job done and makes kids more excited about the job.

Wrapping strings of floss around your fingers and flossing adult teeth isn't exactly fun either. I think I'll start using these things FOR ME!!
