I own many Demeter fragrances like Wet Garden, Rain, Leather, Steam Room, Laundromat, and so many more. I even own Funeral Home which was given to me as a gag gift (Yeck). Demeter Ocean Fragrance for Women is the ocean in a bottle. Not a perfume, more of an aura. It makes me feel like I am standing at the ocean's shore breathing in the salty breeze.

Demeter makes fragrances. But not just any type. They make fragrances that remind people of things. Fresh Grass, Dirt (which is actually a good scent!), Leather, Rain, Tobacco, Paint ...They also make fruity and food scented sprays like Birthday Cake and Orange Juice. Just about any type of fragrance you want, Demeter makes, even really off beat stuff like Saw Dust, Tarnish, and Lobster and common ones like Apple Pie and Freesia.

Demeter Ocean Fragrance for Women is the salty ocean breeze as it brushes your hair back and cools your body while you watch the frothy waves roll in and out at dusk on a warm evening.

This is what I interpret Demeter Ocean Fragrance for Women as smelling like. It brings back memories of many ocean vacations and of happier, more carefree times in my life. I don't wear this fragrance for anyone but me. Most of my Demeter fragrances are for myself. I wrap myself up in a scent that brings memories flooding back and relive days of old. A fragrance like Cinnamon Toast takes me back home where my mother would sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on toast and we'd think it was the best treat ever. Steam Room immediately takes me back to my busier pro wrestling days when every wrestler smelled like he just stepped out of a sauna as he passed me by in the back of the arenas before live shows.

Crazy what a fragrance can do to the psyche, isn't it?

These fragrances do not have added girly or sweet scents added. They smell exactly like their names say. Ocean smells JUST like the ocean and nothing else. It's not a vague ocean scent, it is a bold replica of a frothy, salty sea.

Demeter Ocean Fragrance for Women comes in a 1 ounce glass spray bottle and, at times you can find it in a 4 ounce bottle. It's not sexy,feminine, nor alluring but I love it and, when I am alone writing, a few spritzes of the spray make me feel as if the ocean is right outside my window and the breeze is filtering in. Sometimes I mix Beach and Ocean together for a sandy, salty delight. Add their Suntan Lotion fragrance to the mix and I am in Hawaii! The fragrances layer well.

My Viewpoint

I love many of Demeter's fragrances but the one thing I don't love is that they don't last long on my skin. I find myself reapplying often. However, in a way, this is a good thing because you may feel like smelling like a Saddle or Rye Bread for an hour but not all night long. You can easily overlap with your own perfume and remove the Demeter scent.

Some seem strange but someone out there has a memory that is associated with those scents or they wouldn't be there!

I give Demeter Ocean Fragrance for Women 4 stars. I want to go with 5 but it does tend to wear off quickly and I want to hold onto the memories as long as I can.
