Delta Vancouver Suites - Vancouver, British Columbia —

Vancouver is one of the great, most livable cities in the world, and anyone considering a trip there won't be disappointed.  For a mid-range hotel with amenities and meals worthy of a luxury hotel, you can't do much better than Delta Vancouver Suites.

As you may tell from the name, all rooms are suites here; family vacations made easier and more affordable with convertible sofa-beds (available upon request).  Delta Vancouver Suites is on West Hastings Street, right in downtown Vancouver, so ask for a high floor to reduce the sounds of traffic.  While I was in Vancouver for a business trip, I saw several families with happy children at Delta Suites Vancouver.  And why not?  At check-in, every child up to 7 years old receives a "Kids' Essentials" kit, and kids old enough to write can fill in their own check-in request and preferences card.  The parents looked happy too: Kids under 17 stay free, and children up to age 6 eat free.  This special deals for traveling families are available year-round at all Delta hotels, by the way.  What a way to create customer loyalty!

The suites are clean and attractive, with all the basic amenities expected at a hotel that caters especially to business travelers.  There are distinct work areas in each suite, with optional wifi and ergonomic chairs by the desks.  A business traveler staying at Delta Vancouver Suites can opt for an upgrade, too, to the Signature Club Suites.  This package includes a free continental breakfast, free hors d'oeuvres in the evening, free wifi, upgraded amenities, turn-down service and more.

I ate at the Manhattan, Delta's restaurant, and had a great time.  The service was friendly, helpful, and fast - and the entrees were both delicious and creatively presented.  There's something so refreshing about chefs that go that extra mile to present their meals in a lovely way - and this sets Delta Vancouver Suites' Manhattan restaurant above many other hotel restaurants.  In fact, I'd go so far as to say it's recommended even for vacationers staying at other hotels.

Vancouver is my favorite city in British Columbia.  Considering that not every vacation can involve luxury and 5-star resorts, Delta Vancouver Suites is my pick for a top mid-range hotel in a top-of-the-line city.

I really liked it - not too fancy, but it sure was no Days Inn either! It really had balance.

Thanks - and yes; it's so nice to see a hotel that both has everything a business traveler would need, AND provides the child-friendly atmosphere as well.

I really like places that make kids feel welcome...the Essentials kit sounds like a nice touch.
