Conveniently located on Broad street at the corner of Hodges, in Lake Charles Louisiana, is a school from which I will soon graduate. This school is Delta Tech School of Business and Technology in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

If you are of college age but maybe feel that you are not quite ready for a major college, Delta may be the place for you. Do you want to change your career or are you a late-starter? Delta may be the place for you. Classes are only Monday through Thursday, 8 - 2. Friday is open for make-ups and extra work. Classes are small and personal. Childcare is available for just two dollars a day.

The programs that are available are accounting, medical assistant, drafting, administrative assistant (computers and legal), business management, information technology, and drafting technology. Most of these programs are just 18 months long, however if you get a certificate instead of an A.A.degree your program is 12 months long.

For the new student or "new" student, there is orientation. This is before classes start and after they start there are Monday meetings, with lunch provided, for the new-starts for continued support.

Your books are included in your tuition and getting them is extremely easy. After enrolling in class, you bring your registration slip to the library and your books are given to you. There is no muss and no fuss.

I have gone to college at McNeese and Sowela Tech. In my experience Delta Tech is definitely better as far as getting an internship for the student. After my education at Sowela, I was left to attempt to get aposition. Delta helps you with your resume and an internship.

There is one problem that I have found. The handicap accessibility is very poor. There are no ramps and no elevators available. I do know, however, that Delta will move classes so that a handicap person may attend classes.
