Most HelpfulI haven't flown Delta Airlines since I was a kid. For some reason I've always leaned toward the Houston based Continental Airlines. This time it was Delta who had the greater deal and I booked a trip to the Atlanta area about 2 months ago when the airfares were quite low.
I got nervous as my trip...

Most HelpfulI recently traveled to Florida on a business trip. On the way home I flew Delta airlines and received the worst customer service ever.
The plane was held on the run way by the air traffic controllers for 2 hours. I missed my connecting flight. When I asked the counter person what I was to do; I was...
review »We took 2 roundtrip trips using Delta in 2007 and experienced many new things. Overall, I found Delta to be enjoyable compared to airlines I've taken in the past, but they do have some downsides. If someone out there finds a 5 star, always perfect airline, please let me know! Otherwise, I'll continue flying Delta when I can.
Our First Airline Rewards Program
Before booking, I registered of us for the Skymiles program. It's free, so what the heck. After 2 trips, we both have approximately 8000 points. However, you need 35000 to get any kind of ticket. I don't see why you can't use points...
I’ve flown Delta too many times to count. My most recent trips were to and from California (Dec./Jan, 2007) and to and from Florida (2007).
As usual we bought the tickets on line and checked our bags (To FL this would be an I and not an our.) at curbside by passing any potential line there might be inside.
Security was good; though I am one who wouldn’t mind strip searches!.
Delta (versus Delta Express) has a first class section. All the seats are the same except for exit seats, which have more legroom. One has to be able to lift 40 pounds to be able to sit there and children are not allowed...
I had a flight from ATL to LAX that is a long time to be on a flight (5 hours) but Delta made it great. I was in the economy class but I though it was very roomy and comfortable(b757-200). The cabin was very clean and I found out that Delta cleans there carpet more then any other airline. The flight crew was very professional and pleasant. The flight was about five minutes late leaving ATL but the pilot made that time in the flight and we landed a head of schedule. Our bags were on the carousal before we even got there. I will always fly Delta.
I traveled one month ago Internationally on Delta. The website stated that International flights check in 3 hours before the flight departs. I arrived 4 hours early. I was sent around to three different lines by a Delta employee and was told to try using a kiosk. International flights do not use kiosks. The employee knew that we were flying Internationally. When we finally got into the correct line, we were still 45 minutes before the last cut off for the line, not the flight. The check in person at the counter could not figure out by herself how to print a ticket, we had to wait for a manager...

Watch out when flying Delta. I was flying back from Europe. My flight from Greece to Germany was late. I arrived at my gate in Germany 35 mins before departure. I was told too bad you had to be at the gate 45 mins prior to departure. It didn't matter that my connecting flight was late.
I had to wait until the next flight (the next day!), PAY a 185€ change of ticket fee, pay my own hotel and meals!
They said they were sorry but if the didn't charge me how could they charge someone who missed their flight on purpose.
Watch out for Delta!

Delta, oh Delta, where to begin?
My husband is from Australia, and is a world-traveler now living with me here in Washington. The only time he has ever lost his luggage in his hundreds of trips has been with Delta in the past.
We decided to go on a 2nd honeymoon of sorts with a great fare we found for $230 round-trip from Seattle to Jacksonville with a stop in Atlanta. Going there was fine - there was turbulence, but it's not like the pilots can really avoid that. The seats were narrow but it was OK for the time being.
The flight back was hell-on-earth. We all boarded the plane and were ready...
