I’ve flown Delta too many times to count. My most recent trips were to and from California (Dec./Jan, 2007) and to and from Florida (2007).

As usual we bought the tickets on line and checked our bags (To FL this would be an I and not an our.) at curbside by passing any potential line there might be inside.

Security was good; though I am one who wouldn’t mind strip searches!.

Delta (versus Delta Express) has a first class section. All the seats are the same except for exit seats, which have more legroom. One has to be able to lift 40 pounds to be able to sit there and children are not allowed the exit seats.

If you are an extra tall or larger person, you will not enjoy this ride. The seats are very narrow and very close together. Sitting anywhere other than an exit row, if you are tall, will be quite uncomfortable unless it is for a very short time.

The plane was clean enough as were the restrooms.

Going to CA we had an electronic device on the seat in front of me which allows passengers to watch TV, listen to music, see the flight in the air, etc. On my trip to FL this was a different plane and didn’t have this gadget.

It was nice getting snacks. In the past all we got perhaps was a pretzel mix. On both flights there were choices of cookies, granola bars, chips, and cheese and crackers. A piece of fruit would be a nice option since I passed on all those. Of course beverages are served as always.

The flight attendants have always been pleasant and helpful. I had to take a pill and didn’t have a bottle of water yet. I asked the flight attendant if I could have one and that was no problem even though we hadn’t even taken off.

The pilots came on several times to point out views or tell us about the beautiful weather or in the case of coming home from CA the not so beautiful weather.

This is not an airline where you’ll hear jokes or songs from the crew but they are professional and get the job done. However the narrow seats are a real problem on Delta. Luckily I’m on the small side and the young woman next to me was also. If one of us hadn’t been we would have been bumping into each other.

I agree those small seats are a pain, I had some problems with my knee because I have to keep it straight and that was a problem because you could not have anything in the isle and I had a 2 year old with me and sitting so close was not very enjoyable...
