Courteous friendly flight attendants, flight attendants polite, professional crew, pilots kept us informed, flights on time, crew in air were great

Cons

lousey cistomer service attitude, meals less inadequate than most, crew on ground and in terminal-awful, rude, narrow seats, pricey

Just back from Hawaii. Flew Delta from Philadelphia to Salt Lake City, then connecting into Honalulu. Coach was crammed with no leg room, narrow seats, so you better like your neighbor. I was disappointed to see there were no individual video screens for satelite Tv and inflight movies. This was my first experience on Delta, as I usually fly USAIR. I did not bring my portable DVD player as it was unneccessary on my other trips in coach. I did find the staff on the plane to be most friendly. It was a different story on the ground. Surly gate agents not willing to even discuss the possiblity of improving conditions in seating assignments. My worst experience was in Philadelphia. When the agent was approached at various times by different passengers, she snapped at them with answers such as "Can't you see I am busy" or "You just have to wait" The looks on their faces (passengers) were a mixture of surprise, and annoyance. Now I can understand being busy, however there are ways to nicely let people know that you will help them shortly. I may try Delta again, but it won't be my first choice. I had several other family members that flew to Hawaii from Phila. in a 2 week span and all had miserable experiences. My parents even paid top dollar for first class, and they said it was ANYTHING but. They are on their way home as I pen this, but not on Delta...they switched to USAIR. I am interested to hear how that went...
