Delonghi Safe Heat Oil Furnace Heater
The Delonghi Safe Heat Oil Furnace Heater is not very attractive. It looks like a small free-standing furnace on wheels and stands out in just about any room I place it in. Can you tell I'm not very fond of these?
The Delonghi Safe Heat Oil Furnace Heater puts out 1500 Watts of heat and is designed to be used indoors only. It operates by heating up the oil inside the coils, which in return put off heat. It is an electrical heater that plugs into a normal 120 volt plug.
This unit retails for approximately $59.95-69.95. Are they worth it? Read on to find out!
How Do They Work?
The performance of the Delonghi Safe Heat Oil Furnace Heater is what sent me shopping for additional heaters for the house. They take a long time to heat up, up to an hour before putting out maximum power. When you are coming home from work and it is 50 degrees in the house, I don't want to have to wait an hour to get warm.
We also found that this heater did not work well in larger rooms. It will heat up the bathroom nicely and maintain heat in there. Placed in the den, you can only tell it is working if you are sitting right next to the unit. Compared to the Lasco Designer Series Ceramic Heater that I recently purchased, the Delonghi doesn't measure up or put out near as much heat. Add to the fact that the Lasco also looks nice compared to the Delonghi.
Product Warnings
*Use indoors only
*Do not cover the unit-fire hazard!
*Do not tip unit over
Recommendation
As I stated earlier, the Delonghi Safe Heat Oil Furnace is a good choice for taking the chill out of the air if you have plenty of time to wait for that to happen. If you want instant warmth in a room, find another option because you will be cold and freezing waiting on the Delonghi to heat up. We have found that they are working decently for temperatures in the 40's and 50's but when the lows dip into the 30's at night, it is time for another heating option.
Use the Delonghi Safe Heat Oil Furnace as a last option. That is my final advice concerning the Delonghi Safe Heat Oil Furnace.
