Dell Studio XPS 8100 Desktop - Dell Junk
After owning the Dell Studio XPS 8100 Desktop for about 5 months, the system starting indiscriminately but regularly stalling and freezing - to the point where it was not usable at all. Then I found a TON of complaints online about the XPS having this issue, usually the laptop model. Dell has agreed to replace the hard drive as it's still under warranty, but really this many complaints about a particular model - bad business! From what I've read so far, this won't fix the problem either, so I remain skeptical. We'll see. Off hand, I would advise DO NOT BUY A DELL. If a recurring issue like this can't be appropriately addressed by the manufacturer with some sort of recall, the company does not deserve your business. Spend a little more and get a reliable machine.
