THIS UNIT (DELL INSPIRON 530) FREQUENTLY SHUTS DOWN. ESPECIALLY WHEN I AM TRYING TO SURF THE NET, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE 10 MB SPEED INTERNET CONNECTION. SOME TIMES IT TAKES SEVERAL TRIES TO GET ACCESS TO MY HOME PAGE. THEN AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, IT MAY TAKE UP TO 2 OR 3 MINUTES FOR THE HOME PAGE TO LOAD. I KNOW IT IS NOT MY CABLE MODEM OR ANYTHING ELSE OF THAT NATURE BECAUSE I HAVE UNHOOKED THIS UNIT AND RECONNECTED MY OLD UNIT AND I DON'T HAVE THESE PROBLEMS WITH THE OLDER (SEVERAL YEARS OLDER) UNIT.
ALSO, AFTER THE COMPUTER HAS BEEN IN USE FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS, IT BEGINS TO MAKE A "GRINDING" SOUND INSIDE, ALMOST THE SOUND THAT ANY COMPUTER WILL MAKE WHEN LOADING INFORMATION FROM A FLOPPY DISK, BUT MUCH LOUDER AND I CAN FEEL THE VIBRATION ON THE OTHER END OF MY DESK. THE ONLY WAY I CAN GET THE GRINDING TO STOP IS TO RESTART MY COMPUTER.
FINALLY, I CAN LOAD A PROGRAM ON THIS UNIT, USE THE PROGRAM AND THEN EXIT THE PROGRAM AND SHUT DOWN THE COMPUTER. WHEN THE COMPUTER IS RE-BOOTED, THE PROGRAM MAY OR MAY NOT WORK PROPERLY WITHOUT RE-INSTALLING THE PROGRAM AGAIN.
