Let me first start by saying that I am a huge IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad fan, but when I switched jobs, my only option was Mac vs. Dell.  I choose Dell as I feel more of a connection with PCs vs. Macs (Mac fans don't bother commenting as you are part of the reason why I can't associate myself with Macs ;-p) ... review »

We purchase the Dell XPS several years ago for my home business. What a mistake! It was always getting froze up. Could not keep up with me and finally the hard drive went out. We did not even have it a year. Dell wanted to charge us for everything everytime I called them with a problem. I should have...

Currently this is one of Dell's newest laptops. It is the best laptop I have owned. I have not had any problems with the new windows VISTA at all. A couple of things I don't like are the figerprint reader, I never have gotten mine to work although I didn't try real hard, the other thing I am not fond of the the constant smudges and dust that seems to collect on my screen. But these are minor problems. The graphics and speed are GREAT. Along with it you also get earbuds, a leather case to hold your manual, cd's/dvd's. I love it!!

Highly recommended.

This laptop is a good buy...but a bit pricey. Not overpriced...but the add ons do add up quite quickly.  The picture is of good quality and the key board is easy to use. I've never been a fan of lap top mouse pads...but I have a add on mouse that I use instead.  I like the fingerprint reader and I have always been a fan of Dell.  They are reliable and make good products. Their customer service is about a 3/5--but thats not the review here.  I wouls recommend this computer for others--it is a nice model.

The Dell XPS M1530 exceeds my expectations of what a laptop is capable of. I've always been a desktop user, but found that I needed to branch out for my business. I was skeptical of laptops and always followed the notion that they are not as fast, capable, or reliable as a desktop. Boy - was I wrong! This laptop is better than any desktop I've ever owned!

The reason why I chose this laptop was because I am a graphic designer and I needed something that would allow me to illustrate my designs at top speed. I also use a variety of CAD software (since I am an event planner) and needed something that...

My first laptop was a Dell and lasted me 5 years and is still going strong (that's with 3 hard drive replacements along the way, but that's why you purchase the 4 year warranty!)

Although my old laptop works just fine, I needed a change and wanted a more powerful computer instead.  After TONS of research looking at other company's laptops, visiting Best Buy to get a "feel" for the XPS, and playing on Dell's website for hours on ends (adding different combos of features), I decided on the Dell XPS 1530.  It was a bit pricer over most of the other Dell models, but the "upgrade" from my Inspiron...

The Dell XPS M1530 Laptop is a wonderful product because it has pretty much what you need. I have my dell for a few months and so for it's not a bad laptop. It helps me with y work and other important papers. The internet is pretty quick and pretty inpressive. Half the time when I not doing anything like chores or other house stuff. I be on my laptop playing games, going on my myspace, myyearbook, facebook, mocospace, and twitter. The Dell XPS M1530 Laptop has a great battery life. It can last for a very long time, instead of always having to buy a laptop every year. Another thing I like about...

I ordered this laptop one month ago in a special offer. I originally had just 1 GB RAM, was a bit slower, so later upgraded to more than 2 GB. Now it works faster and I am loving it. I like its looks and it's not heavy too. Has nice media buttons and nice keyboard, I love it's webcam. Very easy DVD drive slot.  It has an extra feature of fingerprint reader, and I like this. This makes easy to loging without typing password. It comes with 1 year computrace lojack protection. So you don't have to worry about your laptop being stolen. But it does not have dialup modem, and it does have only one jack... review »

My husband bought me this laptop for my college work. To this date, this is the best computer I've ever owned. I've never had any problems with it and I love all the new technology it has to offer. I am not a mac person, so this dell works perfectly for me.

The Dell XPS M1520 is as close to a desktop replacement that I have found.  It is easy to learn for those who are just learning, and has all the bells and whistles for the more advanced user.  I love it!

I bought this laptop to replace my other Dell, after it was stolen in a breakin.  This is the first XPS model I've owned, though I had also bought one for my son.  I have been impressed with it, for the most part, and would probably buy one again.  It's not so heavy as to be problematic, and the look is sleek.  I've never been able to get the fingerprint ID to work, but that's not a big deal for me, since other members of the family use it from time to time.  I use my laptop every day, all day, and have encountered only one problem with it over the seven months I've had it -- the keyboard...

I absolutely love the Dell XPS M1530.  I'm a loyal Dell person and find the XPS consistent with all the products I've purchased from Dell.  I'm an everyday internet user and use Microsoft software a lot.  I really like Vista, despite all the negative talk.  I was hesitant to try Vista because I heard such bad reviews on the software.  After using the program for a month, I was very happy with the functionality and user-friendliness of Vista.  I'm not one to download music on my computer and believe in keeping anti-virus software up to date.  I've had the computer for about 4 months and would...

The Dell XPS M1530 is the newest in the XPS series from Dell. It is extremely fast and light (4 pounds without the battery, 6 pounds with battery). Aside from being extremely fast and efficient, it also has multiple USB ports and is very durable and travel friendly. It does not overheat even when in use all day and with multiple high capacity programs running. It's data storage capability, with 4 GB of 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM is truly impressive and it has a pre-installed 2.0 megapixel webcam. It's large 15.4 inch screen makes reading and writing large documents a cinch. This large screen, however,...

got an XPS M1530 two weeks ago and here's my experience with it so far:

Performance: Windows Vista runs just fine on the XPS without any lag so far. Have yet to encounter any problem multitasking. Only downside about it is the heat. Just like any other laptop, this model gets hot rather quickly. But nothing can't be solved with the help of an external cooler.

Design: Personally, I feel that the XPS is one of the best looking laptops in the market. My only complaint is the finishing touch of the battery panel. It's somewhat loose when I got it, (it'd be good if Dell could get it fixed for me) otherwise...

Well I have had my Dell XPS M 1530 for over a year now. I like it except I had to just recently get a new keyboard, and a new cord and charger for it. The charger just broke threw the cord right by the plug that plugs into the computer, then of course the charger itself started to burn out and made a yukky smell. Of course I still had a warranty on it so it didn't cost anything to replace thank goodness. Other than that I like my Dell XPS. It has Windows Vista and Word 2007. It does have a 'fingerprint' mode on it that I do not use or like. I could not even get my print to take correctly, so it...

Just purchased the XPS m1530 for small business, online and personal use rather than the more obvious gaming use. It has already surpassed my expectations so much that using other desktops and laptops seems very restricting. It has memory, speed, and even with Vista glitches is better than any of our other computers. I highly recommend it. It is a little heavier than I thought it would be but all the advantages far outweigh that-no pun intended, I didn't intend to stop using the desktop computer when I ordered this but I have. The sleek design and features like the fingerprint ID scan lend themselves... review »
