Dell XPS M1530 Laptop —

I bought this laptop to replace my other Dell, after it was stolen in a breakin.  This is the first XPS model I've owned, though I had also bought one for my son.  I have been impressed with it, for the most part, and would probably buy one again.  It's not so heavy as to be problematic, and the look is sleek.  I've never been able to get the fingerprint ID to work, but that's not a big deal for me, since other members of the family use it from time to time.  I use my laptop every day, all day, and have encountered only one problem with it over the seven months I've had it -- the keyboard had to be replaced a couple of weeks ago because a couple of the keys died.  After replacement, the shift key still is a bit unreliable, but this seems to be better now.  It's sleek, responsive, and fairly quick.  My son's experience with his XPS M1530 was different, although he managed to dump some orange juice into his early on, which could explain part of the problem.  Although Dell said that it's fine and the OJ isn't going to be a problem, his XPS keeps overheating, the DVD player died, and he finally replaced it with a desktop, after quite a bit of frustration.  All in all, I'd recommend the XPS M1530.  I'm not sure my son would.
