For the last 5+ years I have insisted on using IBM Thinkpads. I had a T60 and T40 (the tablet one) and found them to be extremely well made and very reliable and durable for lots of travel.  However they are priced a bit high and now that they are owned by Lenovo, my loyalty to them has waned.

I recently...

I would like to tell you my Dell horror story.

The first week in March, 2009, I called support and was told I needed a new motherboard. The technician came out the next week to replace the motherboard and my laptop was worse than before. I was told I had to send my laptop back to Dell. Now, I travel...

I have owned over 6 Dell laptops over the last 12 years. Throw in a Sony Vaio, IBM ThinkPad and an HP Pavilion, and I still think one could call me a Dell loyalist. For the last five years I owned a Dell Latitude D400. In spite of the some of its speed/power issues, it was great for its size, weight, style and build quality.

So when it came time to retire the Latitude, I looked at the Dell XPS 1330. Given its weight, speed and price, plus all of its touted bells and whistles, it seemed like the logical choice.

The System:

XPS M1330, Matte Black Casing

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7500 (2.2GHz/800MhzFSB,...

The Dell XPS M1330 is perfect for anyone on the go.  The 15" screen is the perfect size to check anything that you may need to check online or to do any work you may need to do on the go.  The  smaller screen on the M1330 as compared to the M1550 is a much better value for the money.  The laptop does not get as hot as the M1550 and uses less power, not to mention the battery pack is much smaller and the weight of the M1330 is perfect.  The Dell XPS M1330 is perfect for the traveler, the buisness person, the email checker or the graphic artist1

I had a really hard time deciding what laptop to buy. I like the Apple brand but frankly get tired of all the hype, and I was looking for something fairly light weight, pretty, easy-to-use, configurable and with media options. This laptop has it all :). I opted for the pink color, although really like the black too. Because it was configurable, I could choose the amount of memory, what type of hard drive, sound and video card etc. (Okay, I had a more tech-savvy friend tell me what I wanted based on my usage, but it was great to have the options.) I loaded Microsoft Office Professional 2007 on it...

I purchased the M1330 to replace an old, 17 inch desktop replacement Inspiron. I need something fast (check), lightweight (check), portable (check), thin (check) and capable of using internet on the go (check). I can stash my laptop in a backpack and head out. It's several inches too large to be a "netbook", and doesn't fit in my always-wth-me- diaper bag, but it has a full-sized keyboard. Since I'm either coding or writing most of the time, the larger size is worth it.

The M1330 also takes a ridiculous amount of abuse. I don't recommend testing this claim, but it's survived falls from tables,...

XPS M1330 is the most efficient and portable laptop I've ever seen. Well, it is my very first laptop though I think I got one of the best one. It is light as you know already and the screen is not that small. I can see very well and have no problem viewing anything on my laptop. Also, the design is very cool. I have the Product RED one, so mine is red color. Besides the color, Dell really cared on the design. It is just so pretty.
To be honest, I don't really know about the OS and anything like that. But, as far as the speed of the laptop is concerned, it works so great! I never had any unexpected...

I'm only a week in but so far I'm loving the Dell XPS M1330 (especially after suffing an HP laptop nightmare for the last year). The system doesn't come with much junk preinstalled and windows vista works well. No crashes so far.

Battery life is about 3 hours.

Critisms:
The card reader which doesn't take XD cards.
An additional battery would have been a lot more welcome than the fairly superflous things that came with the laptop:
- A huge manual in a fake leather folder (unopened).
- A nice fabric carry case (no point if you have a laptop bag).
- A pair of earphones to add to my collection...

I love this laptop! The picture quality is wonderful. Sound is good for watching movies or playing music. I am not computer savy, but this computer was very easy to install programs on and set up. I got the red one and am very happy with my purchase. The standard windows is the new Vista which I am not too crazy about but slowly learning. The battery power lasts about five hours which is good, and having the wifi already installed is great for taking it anywhere to pick up a signal so I can get work done

I recently purchase a Dell XPS and I love it.  It is light weight and small so it fits comfortable in carrying case and does not weigh me down when I'm carring it.  Its fast and the screen is easy on the eyes.  The only thing that I dont like is that if I dont have it plugged in the screen is darker and harder to read.  But for speed and size, its great.  DVDs look great too.

Dell XPSM1330 Laptop is a great laptop, I'm very happy with it! The screen is bright and clear. The keyboard is well defined and I really enjoy watching movies on it. The only con that I have is that the letters do not feel sturdy. My cat walked over it once and took the keys with her. Its okay but still unable to get the Window key back on. All in all, I would certainly buy it again!

The Dell XPS M1330 is designed for those that want power on the go. If you're also fashion conscious and like to standout in a crowd, the looks of the XPS M1330 will help you in that area too. Sleek design coupled with a portable form factor and powerful components come together to make for a compelling notebook.

I love this computer!  The Dell XPS M1330 Laptop is extremely easy to use, and it has all the features I could want!  Comes in many good colors, for a customizable look.   I would never choose a Mac over this, Dell laptops are much less frustrating.
