After purchasing my Dell XPS m1210 almost two years ago, I am still very satisfied by its incredibly well-though-out design and usability. I originally decided to purchase this system after deciding that my old (but nice) 15.4-inch HP notebook was a little to cumbersome to carry around with me. As a college student who's pursuing a degree in computer science, I needed a system that was powerful enough to handle everything my computing-intensive could handle, while being able to fit it into my bookbag ALONG WITH the rest of my books!
The m1210 model I purchased came with 2GB of memory, a 100GB hard drive, an intel core 2 duo (centrino) 1.83 GHz processor. I was also fortunate enough to have two batteries with it--a standard 6-cell battery and an extended 9-cell battery. After nearly two years, I'm still getting close to three hours of life on the standard battery, and nearly 5 hours on the extended battery!
Cosmetically, this is one of the best-designs I've seen in a laptop. While it's not obnoxiously stylish, it looks very nice. More importantly, my XPS has been through some very tough environments (Imagine 20 pounds of books bouncing around on top of your laptop in a bag that gets tossed around a lot. Oops). Despite everything I've thrown at it, there are no broken hinges, no display issues, and no malfunctioning hardware.
In a nutshell, this is one of the highest-quality sub-13" notebooks ever made. I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't need a laptop that's bigger than their desk!
