I rececently received the Vostro 230 Desktop computer as a gift for my birthday. I love this computer.It comes with windows 7 which is so easy to use. It's easy to surf the net with it there no issues of freezing and it works like a charm. The best thing about it is that it is expandable. This means that you can always add more space to it. I think it's one of the best computers on the market. I always buy DELL because It's a Product I can trust for it's performance.

This is a really great computer to have, the size is smaller than some bulky computers that just get in the way. It holds a ton of pictures and important files, mine is loaded with them. It runs quickly and precisely. I have never had any problems out of my computer and I love the design of it. The two flaps that you can insert discs into is great. The fact that it is from Dell is what led me to buy it, but it's a great computer no matter who made it. I also love that it comes/came with Windows XP, I wouldn't feel comfortable with many other operating systems, I enjoy using Windows. I've had mine for quite a few years and got a good deal on it, it's still running great! I would definitely recommend this to friends.

I needed a computer that I could dedicate 100% to my home business, and would not have all the trial software with a million different expiration dates that I did not want in the first place. It needed to be fast, have tons of memory and be able to run several programs at once. I purchased the Dell Vostro 230 Desktop computer on the advice of my brother-in-law, an IT guy who has never steered me wrong, and have been very satisfied with it from day one. We've almost always had Dell computers, so it wasn't a big stretch to go with this one, but I'm always teetering on the edge of going back to a Mac. Most of the software I need for my business is PC based, although I wouldn't let that stop me from buying Mac. Price was another big consideration. Dell is a great value for the price and won't break my budget. My husband wants to buy a Mac next he needs a computer, but I will be staying with Dell.

Well let's start with the good about this Dell Vostro. The Dell Vostro 230 desktop features an Intel Core 2 Duo (E7500) at 2.93ghz speed. This is fast enough for the average user. You will not be bottlenecked with this processor unless you are a very avid gamer playing the newest games and unless you do a lot of Photoshop and Sony Vegas work. For web surfing and listening to mp3s, this processor offers plenty of power for your needs. The memory only has 2 gigabytes, which is decent but it falls below the 4gb standard that is so commonly found in desktops these days. If you get the Dell Vostro 230, I highly recommend you upgrade your memory to get a total 4gb of ram. Anymore than 4gb, however, and you will get severe diminishing returns; you will not gain much performance with over 4gb of ram. This Vostro 230 also features Windows 7 professional, which is very nice. The downside is that either the case ON button or the power supply is faulty. When I press ON, the computer refuses to turn on. As a result, I need to perform this task over and over again to get it to catch. Very annoying.

I love dell products and this dell vosto 230 is awesome.  The speed on it is really fast and the specs on it is really impressive for the price.  the uniqueness of the product is extremely cool.  Its really heavy and you can't transport it often.  If i need to take this to the shop to repair it, its a pain because of the weight and the size.  Sometimes it will lag and run slow but most of the time the speed of it is commendable.  On occason, it will lock up and have to reboot.  This is a pain at times.   I have had other desktops before and this will probabaly rank in my top two of desktops.  its very attractice cosmetically and i like that about this product.  I would recomended this to anyone looking for a good desktop and not a laptop.  Its relatively cheap so i would get it if you are looking for a new desktop.  the dell support is really good and has helped me out many times whenever i had any questions.

I've tried many computers over the years. I began my Internet journey with a Compaq Presario with Windows 3.1 in 2001. Nine years and 4 personal computers later, I've found what I believe to be the creme de la creme of personal computers. And that is my Dell Vostro 230 Desktop Personal Computer. First, I work at home. So a PC just for my home business was a must. I bought this after my previous XP computer crashed. Literally. Nothing could be salvaged. I was totally distraught. The computer techie who tried to repair my baby suggested this Dell Vostro as the better of the two computers he suggested. He installed all the software I'd need for business and upgraded me from XP to Vista. This was several months before Windows 7 Pro came out. I couldn't wait that long. :) The first thing I noticed when I turned my new baby on was how quiet the fan is. My previous PCs were so noisy. This computer whirrs on so gently and purrs like a kitten. Everything's so smooth. The programs load quickly. I can find my place easily. I can switch from one window to the next without problems and browser to browser without diffculty. It's the ultimate for the multi-tasker. In other words, I get my work done faster and more efficiently. I LOVE this computer!!!

I have had bad experiences with Dell computers in the past, and this one is another.  First off, for the price, you can easily get parts almost twice as powerful and build the sucker yourself, or go to Geek Squad and have them do it and still save a couple hundred bucks.  The hardware that comes with this setup is lackluster in quality and even with just a hundred or two gigs of programs, the computer becomes considerably slower and you'll need to defrag the hardware more than you should if you want to keep your speed.  That or don't put anything on the computer.  Also, Dell seems to never update their look.  The giant black box with the dell circle on it is pretty ugly and outdated and it looks like its from the 90s which actually sounds about right for the price and the hardware.  Dell computer may have been fancy a decade ago but now when you can buy individual pieces with simple research and pay some kid 20 bucks to put it together, these computers are not worth it.

So I had this computer since early fall.  Compared to our dinosaur one that was 8 years old this computer is awesome.  It runs very fast and it has excellent service.  The only problem is that our old computer was a dell one too and the monitor broke about 6 months after we had it.  The new dell's monitor hasn't broke but I'm not expecting it to last very long.  Other than that this computer is very efficient and I love it!  Plus it came with microsoft 2010!

I  had  to  replace  my  old  dell  after  6  years  everything  was  out  dated  and  had  slowed  down  on  the  new  games  and  software.  I  don't  play  many  game  these  days  but  needed  a new  work  computer  this  computer  is  very  easy  to  set  up  and  use  right  out  of  the  box. I would  not  advise  buying  this  computer  for   high-end  video  games  or  heavy  graphic  editing, If  you  are  looking  for  a  computer  to  do  work  or  bills  on  though  this  is  a  great  computer  for  that  and  at  a  good  price.  This  computer  also  comes  with  the  most  up-todate  OS  on  the  market  Windows  7. One  other  pluse  is  the  dell  warrenty  and  support  if  you  have  any  problums  with  your  new  hardware  dell  has  always  given  great  support  I  have  not  had  any  problums  with them  in  the past  10  years  of  ordering  from  them. Great  work  computer  for  the  best  buck.
