The Dell Vostro 220 Desktop Computer is a reasonably priced, excellent desktop computer. I wanted a good-quality desktop computer to replace my cheaper E Machines desktop computer. The computer expert who I purchased the Dell Vostro 220 Desktop Computer from, highly recommended this model. This model has performed well, and is faster than my old computer. It is a sleek black design. Concerning the topic of computers, I would go with the more reputable brand rather than going with the cheaper brand which might not last as long, be difficult to repair, and/or have a poorer performance. Dell has been around for a long time, and has an excellent reputation. There are always computer sales going on so you can probably find a good deal in the newspaper or online. You might also find a good combination deal offering the desktop computer, monitor, an printer for a discounted package price. This computer will not disappoint you.

This is my first dell vostro 220 that I have ever had.  I bought it with a new dell printer, and a refill.  I have had compacs in the past and much prefer the dell. It's much faster and I really love the flat panel monitor.  The monitor is crystal clear with loads of color.  It's much nicer than the great big ugly monitors that I am used to.  If I have to move it, its much easier to pick up, even though its quite heavy.  Thats ok. I like taking digital pics and and transferring them to my computer.  They look great.  I can crop and edit and add text to my pics with the software.  The other pc that I had didn't have a good quality picture software program.  I also like doing home videos with my new computer and they look great.  I will definately buy another one later on, when I get ready to upgrade this one.

It has been almost 2 years since we got this computer and has been running like a champ since then, we have it running with Windows XP Pro and still is fast (Never upgraded for Windows 7) it takes little time to boot or restart and most of the programs executed on it run smoothly. This is mostly home/personal use, so the main task is to connect to the internet, use some office programs (word, excel, power point), loading and editing pictures,watch movies online, and home videos and so far we have been very pleased, it was easy to install and use from the beginning, easy to add any accesories, I love that it has plenty of usb slots available (2 back/4 front). It is a regular size standing tower and looks OK, we have it set up so it goes to energy savings mode if for any reason stays on without our knowlegde and comes back as soon as we wake it up. So far I have not being disspointed with Dell products so I will probably keep loyalty to the brand. The price was not excesive, very down to earth and quick delivery. I would definitely reccomend for home and some office use, I can not say anything about complex graphics programs since I have not tried on it. I believe the price is usually right and the performance consistent.

I got this computer back in the summer of 2009 while attending Middle Tennessee State University. I was majoring in Computer Science, so of-coarse I was in need of a good computer at a cheap price. The Dell Vostro 220 desktop computer easily fit the bill. This little machine was fast right out of the box. The quick processor insured that compiling data was a snap. My only real problem with the machine was that I am a bit of a gamer and was hoping that this machine would be adequate to play World of Warcraft. Unfortunately, after less than an hour, I would get hit with a "Blue Screan of Death" screen and was forced to restart my computer. After doing a little bit of searching, it seems as if this is a normal thing to happen to these Dell Vostro computers. Unfortunately, that small problem stopped me from giving this computer a higher rating. If only this machine could handle some games, I would have given the product an additional star.

This computer is a good choice for both the average gamer and the at-home user, utilizing a mixture of speed and easy usage to make this product appealing to almost any consumer.   The Dell Vostro 220 is a relatively small desktop computer, which can easily be fit into a small area if needed or put out in the open for easy access, and looks sleek and well-placed in almost any environment.  This computer has two seperate processors in it, allowing you to open more programs at once than with a single-core computer, as it can process more information at a time.   With 4 USB ports on both the front and the back, this computer can easily handle as many plug-ins as anyone should ever need.  The one downside to this computer is the fact that it comes with McAfee, a virus program which I have found ineffective and problematic in the past, but this can extremely easily be solved by un-installing this program and getting a new, free virus protection service.   Overall, this computer is good for the price, but you would be better off building your own or finding a cheaper computer and then upgrading after.

If I had a to choose what computer to use I will always chose the Dell Vistro.  It fits my needs perfectly. I use it to watch movies, download music, and surf the inter net.  I love the flat screen and the slick black of the tower.  I don't ever have a problem with it over heating or freezing.  The space is big enough for my music downloads.  I store lots of music and its perfect for that.  It came with a DVDs/Cd burner so I am able to burn off my music and movies onto disks for listening elsewhere.  The Vistro is compatible with my Ipod and mp3 player.  In general, its the best computer I have come across-ed or ever have used.  I would not chose to own any other computer than the Dell Vistro 220.  Its perfect for downloading music, movies and to just surf the Internet and check email.  I would recommend this computer to all my friends and family members.  I works great and is fast and is a fast computer!

The Dell Vostro 220 mini tower is a solid machine. It can be customized to fit your personal needs & stay within your budget. The one I purchased has 2.8 Ghz with 2 GB of Ram memory. The varios processors offered by Dell range from an Intel Celeron 444 2.0 Ghz to an Intel Core 2 Duo 3.33 Ghz.  Memory is expanable to 4 GB.  I didn't need an extra large hard drive so 160 gb is more than sufficient for our needs. The hard drives range fro 80 GB all the way upto 750 GB with an option for a secondary hard drive up to 1 TB. A big draw to this computer was the option of being XP downgradeable.The computer come with Vista installed and a disk that will allow you to downgrade back to XP if you find Vista to challenging to find all the necessary drives for you equipment or compatability with your software. The cpu is sleek looking and can be purchased with various additions offered by Dell. I didn't puchase a monitor with this order but Dell offered various sizes and quality to fit your needs. The unit was purchased with Office 2007 pre-installed at a reasonable price. The basic Office 2007 package comes with Micrsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Dells waranty is one year with options for on-site service.  Audio options are pretty standard fro Dell, Integrated 5.1 Channel Audio to a Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme. The Vostro comes tandard with a keyboard and an optical mouse.Dell offers the Vostro in a slime-line which has a smaller foot print than the mini tower. Your decision depends on your space requirements. However, the smaller the footprint the more it will cost you. Overall I found the Vostro to be a good machine at a very reasonable price with all the larest technology features included or for the advanced availbale as a option. It's a good buy.

Although I am not a computer expert, I use this computer everyday and it is consistently good.  Sometimes if  you get too many screens open, it will be slow.  I've used the CD-ROM and it has also worked efficiently.  When I've had to put it into the shop because of a virus removal, I had a little problem plugging in the mouse and the sound.  Many computers have a picture or abbreviation showing where to plug this in for those of us who are not computer savvy.  Some of the connections are obvious but I had to call the computer tech eventually. The running sytems are excellent and programs are easy to install and remove.  The only problem with connections that have been consistent is the connection to the printer, Dell 946.  Sometimes the queue would jam up and say USB and the nothing would copy.  Now all I do when this happens is unplug the connection to the printer and it fixes itself.  The speakers for this hard-drive unit are more than adequate for a PC.

Dell is a great company that delivers on its promises. It has a variety of products and services that appear to hit most price points.  If you know what you need to accomplish, you can generally find a good fit within the Dell family of computers.  I needed a solid, workhorse type computer that would be reliable and perform both off the shelf and some proprietary software.  I have found this system to do just that.  I have not had any technological issues and I am running my system 10 - 14 hours per day.  I am running Windows 7 (upgraded from Vista) along with the Microsoft Office Enterprise Suite.  It runs all of those programs flawlessly.  In addition, I have two proprietary packages that I utilize in my work. The position and number of USB ports is fantastic and the speed of the optical drive is impressive.  I am running a dual monitor set up and I have not had any issues with the video cards or the monitors. Great investment.

Dell Vostro gets the job done and it's helpful when i need it. It has alot of power and some times when i spend the whole night working it never over heats or even feels hot. So i thinks that it's a great pc and would recommend it to anyone who works late nights.
