I love my Dell Studio 1555, it's a great computer!

I got this computer as a replacement of my old Inspiron (running Windows Vista) and as a laptop for college. Running Windows 7, this thing is a beast. It does everything I need it to do for school and it runs perfectly. I have had a few issues with my computer. The right click button on the touchpad broke, but with my warranty Dell came and fixed it. Also, the plastic on the frame broke near the hinge but it was also covered under warranty. I would definitely suggest getting a warranty for this computer, it covers really well and Dell is super easy to work with to get things fixed.

Purchased this computer after having an Inspiron for 4 years at college.  The Inspiron was alright, but I need something more powerful to handle the work I was doing - Adobe CS2 suite really isn't all that kind to computers with not a lot of power. Got the computer pretty quickly, about a week after I ordered it.  Basic looks are nice, the rubbery top on it is nice in that it doesn't get scratched up going in and out of the backpack for classes, though it does attract dust like no other.  It needs a constant wipe down to keep the dust from getting into the rest of the computer. The screen likes to attract a lot of dust too and the slightest little mark on it is hard to get off without putting scratches into it, but a good can of air and a damp cloth go a long way in helping.   The keyboard doesn't seem to get too much stuff in between the keys sincey the gaps between them are relatively small - but this doesn't affect the comfort of typing on it - in fact, I find it more annoying to type on a standard keyboard than it is to type on the lap top. It was easy to set up and Windows 7 runs like a charm on it.  Everything runs smoothly there's no lag despite my having a bunch of heavy running programs on it like CS2, Maya, and the like. The speakers are nice, clear, though they lack in the bass department, but it's a laptop, you can't expect it to sound like desktop speakers, though it's quite easy to set up external speakers with the laptops. The DVD reader/writer is amazing.  I was incredibly pleased that they went with a slotted drive on this model - the tray system on my old Inspiron would get stuck from time to time and I'd have to rely on a paper clip to get it to release, so not having to deal with that is a blessing. The touche mouse gets a little iffy at points and the buttons on the mouse can get stuck at times if you don't push down directly in the middle, I've solved this by using an normal mouse plugged into the USB slot - saves my hands from cramping and I have all the normal functions of a mouse.  The page slider is a little tricky to get working at times too - sometimes it just doesn't want to work for me - but again, normal mouse solved that. The graphics card is pretty impressive, Being in college I watch a lot of movies on it with my roommates and the screen is really nice and crisp.  HDMI output is good too, I can hook it up to a TV for easier usage and have a dual screen set up.
