I love my Dell Studio 17 laptop, it runs like a charm.  Other than being heavier than most laptops it truely works quite well.  It holds the battery charge much better than other models that I have owned.

I was sitting at a friends house how had a Dell laptop sitting on the table. I asked if i could check my email and found out it was a friends laptop who left it there for a day so be carefull but yeah i could. from start to finish I loved eveything about that laptop. loading up was fast, internet was fast and the picture was unbeleavable

I am in love with my Dell Studio. I don't have space for a desktop so I needed a laptop that works like a desktop, this was the closest. I had to add a few features, but it works beautifully. I'm so used to using laptops I don't know if I could ever go back to using a desktop even if I did end up with the space for one. WIth the games I play, I'm able to play smoothly without having to turn the graphics down. I've had problems with other laptops that a few friends suggested, I tried to avoid Dell, but turns out Dell has better customer service, and they have the option to have a technician come over to fix your computer with the warranty. Because I'm so hard on my computers I need a warranty that covers everything but theft and fire (that's what the homeowner's insurance is for) So if you're looking for a laptop despite what a lot of people say, I'd definitely suggest Dell, and get the 4 year warranty.

I got my computer for a Christmas gift, and i don't go a day with out using it. It has a very good battery, i have never had to replace the battery and it has been two years. it still holds over an hour and a half. one thing i recommend is to get the warranty and renew it, cause i didn't and i chipped the side of my computer and can not get it replaced. also my charger had broken and i have to replace it still. my computer is still very fast and i have a lot of music and pictures on it. one thing i don't like about it is that it is kind of heavy i can still take it places but it really adds a good amount of weight. its nice for keeping at home. it turns on pretty fast too. i have had a few problems with viruses on it though. i was always able to get it working my self but it took a while. another thing that bothers me about it is that i get messages on it that are like pop ups saying something is wrong with something in my computer but i cant figure out how to fix it.

I purchased this laptop less than a year ago online in the green color.  I got one of the higher end models (RAM, etc.) with it.  I was hoping after what id paid for it, the computer would be in excellent condition for at least the first week.  The day i got it, everything was perfect, all manuals included and all.  About 2 days later my eject button on the touch buttons would constantly try to eject, but nothing was in the drive.  I sent it back to dell to have them fix.  When i received it, it worked for a  few weeks, then it started again.  I gave up on trying to contact them and have them understand what was wrong with it.  About 10 months into having the laptop, im already having issues with my hard drive.  Im not satisfied with this choice of a laptop!

It is unfortunate that attention to detail seems to have been absent when the power supply was paired with the Dell Studio 17 laptop.  It seems to be some type of grounding issue as a buzz is audible whenever the laptop is plugged into an outlet and being used with a separate input/output device.  The issue has been noted with such external audio devices as the Lexicon Alpha, Digidesign Mbox 2 Mini and Mbox 2.  Other than this small, but very annoying, flaw, it is a great laptop.  I have mine maxed out with 8 gigabytes of ram and it doesn't seem to have a problem handling anything I've thrown at it.  Battery life can be a bit better, but I can get by with the hour and half that it provides.  I do enjoy having access to a full size keyboard and 10 Key pad.  I'm not sure if I am a fan of windows 7 more for the operating system itself or the ability of this laptop to handle and process information.  It is more than likely the laptop.
