The Dell Studio 15 laptop is my daily companion. I write web content, so I'm online nearly all day. When I'm done working, I chat with friends or watch free online videos. I also use VoIP for my home and business phone service and the Studio 15's audio is pretty good.
The only issue I have had with the Dell Studio 15 laptop is the power supply. After having the computer for a few months, I started getting an error message periodically that my system wasn't recogniizing the adapater. At the 8-month mark, the adapter gave up the ghost in part. My computer was fine running off AC but the adapter was not charging the battery. A quick visit to the Dell website gave me an idea of what the problem was. I was connected with a tech support specialist in India, who agreed with the diagnosis. A Dell tech rep was dispatched within a couple of days (I live in a rural area, so I anticipated this delay.) A quick visit, a brief test of the new adapter, and I was back in business.
You can get a better laptop, you can get a worse laptop. However, I got a lot of bang for my buck during an end-of-the-year promotion from Dell. With tax, my Studio 15 was about $700 -- and Dell threw in some desireable freebies. I'm impressed with their tech support and customer care.
