I had high hopes of this little power-saving machine, ordering one hoping to replace approx. 110 power-hungry machines. Unfortunately, the config with 2GB and a dual-core Atom processor, running XP SP3, proved to be to slow. When running only one task at once things were OK-ish. But still noticably slower in normal office-tasks then a 2 Ghz P4 with 2 GB. It also couldn't handle video-files with high resolutions (720p and up) and bitrates without hickups. Although we don't regularly require that of our machines, it gives an idea of the computing power of this machines We were disappointed the Dell chose for SiS to provide integrated graphics. Getting it to run under linux required a portuguese package. To our surpise, 1920x1200 outpur did not work over DVI. We are still trying to get it to work over sub-D, as Dell states it can, but that will require manually entering monitor-timings (under Linux, that is). As we didn't want to 'downgrade' from aformentioned P4, we decided to go with regular desktop computers, and skip this generation of tiny PCs. But one day, when these small machines are pwerfull enough, all the desktops will be replaced by machines like this.

This is a very good computer and i recommend it to anyone who wants a computer that has a lot of space in it and a computer that is very fast because  this computer is a very fast computer and it is also very awesome and i recommendatory it for anyone who is looking for a new computer. This is a very fast computer and you can do a lot of different things at once at it will all run fast and smoothly without any problems or lag for a lot of the time and the only problem with this is how it doesnt have an hdmi port in it wich isnt good because hdmi is ment for high definition moniters so there isnt any of that. You can play games on this computer and you can browse the web and watch video on this. I haven't had any problems with this since i got it and it is a pretty silent computer and doesn't make a lot of noise most of the time so that is a pro.So bottem line if you are looking for a fast computer but dont care about hdmi than this a computer for you

The Optiplex 160 is a good thin client machine well suited for a number of office environments. This is a very good desktop i suggest for the beginners. It is very fast and the cpu hardly occupies any space. I am using it and it did not give any type of problems till now. Great one. they provide all the parts or accesories available.desktop is very convenient to use at home as well as at work because working on laptop always is not good for ur posture and eye also.                  When I first bought this computer i thought it would be a upgrade from my HP . What a mistake first I had all types of problem just getting it to get on-line then after that it started freezing and I would have to reboot 4 or 5 times a day. I called their tech number I guess 10 times each time it was someone that I could barely understand because, of their accent therefore It would take me twice as long to have them talk me threw this or that.                 Sure it would work for a few days and then it seemed like the same thing would start again. I even called the cable people out and they told me in no certain terms " there is something wrong with your computer" Finally I said for get it . I took it back and got a HP Slimline with a ram upgrade and I even got a deal on a larger screen ! How could I go wrong? After receving a dell flatscreen free from a friend that never used it, occasionally, the screen just goes blank.Whats with that stuff? If I would have purchased it, I would have taken it back as soon as it did it which was immediately. I believe in dell products, but this one has a glitch in ot that needs attention. overall, i would not buy this monitor.

I have had several different brands of computers. Dell by far has been the worst out of all the brands. I think they are cheaply made! My dell desktop lasted about a 2 years. With the Cd drive only working on it for about a few months. And after awhile it all of a sudden started to work again. Also my sister had purchased a dell laptop. That thing was also nothing but junk. She paid over a 1000 for it worked about 6 months and the motherboard wen out on it. She paid 150 to get it fixed and anot a month later the computer totally stopped working. It wouldnt even turn on. So that made 2 dell computers that didn't last 3 years combined. My dells may not be the same one that is shown un the review but it is a Dell. If thinking about purchasing a Dell computer, i would think again. Also, several people that i know has had the same issues with dell. Hope this review helps someone.. If i had to choose a brand i would def. go with a Hp computer. they are the best so far that i have ran across..

This is a very nice computer to have .Dells are my favorite computers to operate and are very fast and efficient .This computer has a lot of memory space which is important to have for me. It also does a good job blocking pop ups and keeping the computer secured . When this computer is fully charged , the battery life last's me a good amount of time to keep up on my important thing's such as my stocks and other things I need to keep up with. This computer works very well for me when I watch movies or listen to music as well. The sound and picture has great quality. I have high speed internet and this computer is very fast . I never have problems waiting for stuff. When I click on a website, it takes me to that site very quick and my downloads are fast and efficient as well. I am a little bit computer illiterate still and have lots to learn yet. But the more I learn about computers ,the more I am impressed with this model. I look forward to seeing more models in the future. Thank you.
