I have never had a problem with Dell when it comes to purchasing a computer online. However, when purchasing non-Dell branded items, it's been a terrible experience. They never have it in stock and often I never receive what I ordered. For example, in mid-November I ordered a two Wii controller as a Christmas gift for my son. Never heard anything from Dell until January 7th. I was informed that I must send email consent to receive the backordered product. Well I consented immediately only to find out on January 24th that they cancelled my order.
Dell's technical support is substandard and getting worse. Very rarely have I dealt with a Dell tech person that speaks good english. The other thing I have found is that the people are not resourceful and don't have PC troubleshooting experience. When I purchased a new computer last spring and ran into a problem they gave up after 15 minutes and offered me a small credit to be applied on my next Dell purchase. What kind of support is that?
I have decided that on my next computer purchase I will be getting a mac or an HP (if I stay with Windows). I will also not be buying any non-Dell branded items from Dell.
