I like this machine - it is a great replacement for a desktop and portable enough to move from place to place although not really small enough to be called a laptop.

I have had the machine for less than a year and hardly ever move the machine (I use it as a desktop).   While I was working on the system the screen went blank and never came back.   I called Dell support and went through three support people who did not have a way to look up my records before they finally told me that there was a separate number for these systems.   I actually got to speak with an american english speaking support tech on that fourth call....only problem is that they were not able to correctly determine that it was not the monitor.    Four business days later a tech showed to replace the screen only to find out it wasn't the screen.   Four business days later they sent me a box to send the machine out to a support depot.   The entire motherboard was shot - this after one year of standard usage of the system as a desktop.   I hope this repair holds up and that it lasts for a while because the system is nice when it works.   Being without it for weeks was frustrating.

I am going through exactly the same problem - screen and video goes blank or dead many times in the middle of my working on the computer or at boot time and can't tell you I am happy with Dell. The tech support guys have a very poor way of assisting. They go by the book. So far no luck. They first sent a technician who did not even know how to open the computer covers. Now, they are asking me to send it to their support depot.
