DELL Laptop is a great investment.  I bought mine about 3 years ago and it still works like new!  I do quite a bit online and have to deal with dial up internet - I am impressed on how well it does.  I have not had one problem with this laptop.  It is just the right size and weight for me.  Occassionally, I use it on my desk with a docking station.  I am able to view videos, process photos and listen to music easily.  I would highly recommend customizing your own Latitude to fit your needs.  Mine was kind of pricey, but, I was able to choose exactly what I wanted through DELL.com.  This is a very reliable computer and worth the money.  I don't think I will need to replace it for some time to come, but, when I do, it will be another DELL.  Whether I want to sit at my desk and print information from my computer or sit on the couch and check email, my laptop is there.  It is very convenient and works great!

this loptop(dell latitude D530) is very nice for me. it provide convenience for my work. I can carry it back to home and continue my work in home. it includes the wireless module so even in outside, if have wifi access, I can still connect back to my office. the battery can support my work at least 2 hours work even under the wireless access be enabled. it not so heavy to carry, but of course, it is not so lightly for carry. if I will buy a new loptop in the future, I perfer find one which much lighter than this dell loptop. and even the screen is not as big as this one. from my point of view, the weight and the battery life and wireless access is much more importmant for a loptop. this loptop is not support 802.11N, so the wireless performance just soso. everything otherwise for this computer is fine for me right now. but for sure it is not my dream loptop. the other thing for this computer is it very reliable.

My Dell Latitude has been dependable for four years and it still runs as good as it did when I first got it.  Since I use it in my classroom, as well as at home, it travels back and forth to school with me.  It gets many hours of use each day since it is hooked up to a projector and an interactive whiteboard for three ninety minute periods, five days a week.  My Dell latitude is seldom sluggish despite the number of educational programs I have downloaded on it.  I use it for school cop, a program to record disciplinary points and edline to record grades that parents can view on-line,  In addition, the intelliboard program, mimio board soft ware, mimio pad software, and responder teaching devices compete for space, seldon slowing the programs or causing my Dell to freeze.  My Dell's biggest attribute is that it has survived students typing on it and downloading videos  for whole class use. My Dell Latitude does have a couple of downfalls.  The cursor sometimes moves when my students or I am typing and before you know it, it is typing on another line in the middle of another word.  In addition, my battery still works without the power cord, but the screen appears dark.  Overall, I will look for another Dell when old faithful says good-bye to me.

For anyone looking for a laptop.  You do not want to purchase a Dell.  They are nice feeling computers, however, the ventilation system is on the underneath of the laptop.  I thought they called it a laptop, because you used it on your lap.  Wrong answer with that one.  If you do not have a cooling pad for it to help with the ventialation then it is going to overheat.  Mine finally overheated and fried the motherboard.  When I contacted Dell, to sum it up.  I was out of luck.  They stated I abused the computer and the damages were my fault.  Needless to say, I did not 'abuse' the laptop I used it the way I use my Gateway and my HP, and theirs fried, my others do not get as hot as that one did.  I have discussed with other co-workers and friends who have various varieties of Dell laptops, they state they have the same problem.  Don't waste your money.  Perhaps Dell will get with it and realize that they need to rethink their laptop designs.

My Dell is easy to use, reliable, and functional.  On the rare occasion that I have had problems with my computers, a tech person comes out very quickly and personally takes care of my computer right there on site.  The tech support has been fabulous. I have experienced far fewer crashed with my Dell than I ever have with any other computer.  Every computer freezes up now and then, but my Dell does it far less than any other  machine I have ever worked with. The wireless internet is also awesome.  There is a wizard that makes connecting to the web easy, no matter what the situation.  I was at a new location with a friend who had their HP with them.  We were trying to connect to the wireless internet there.  It was not as simple as it should have been, and no matter what she did, she couldn't log in.  I, on the other hand, had no problems.  I simply fired up the wizard, and it did all the troubleshooting and problem solving for me.  The next thing I knew, I was all hooked up, connected, and surfing away.  My previous laptop struggled with multi-tasking.  If I were running multiple programs at the same time, it would overwhelm my system and I would struggle with getting everything to work properly without the entire system freezing up.  That is very rarely a problem with my Dell Latitude D520.  I am able to run Microsoft Word applications, Microsoft Publisher applications, basic pre-loaded calculations, such as the calculator, and surf multiple websites simultaneously with no problems at all.  If I were to have one complaint, I would wish that the USB ports were more durable.  I am not sure what is going on, but in the last couple of months, I have found that one of my USB ports is no longer correctly reading my flash drives.  This is highly frustrating when I am working on a project, or trying to get a document from someone else. Lastly, I use projection screens a lot for work. I have found that other people I work with sometimes struggle with connecting their laptops to the various projecters.  Sometimes, no matter what they do, they just cannot seem to get it to work.  However, I have had great luck.  Whenever I plug my laptop up to a projector, it always works.  Overall, I am very pleased with my Dell and will buy another one in a heart beat.  I look forward to buying either one with a yellow cover, or the new, laptop that sports my favorite NFL team, the Broncos.  It comes highly recommended.

I used to have a Dell Inspiron Laptop that I absolutely loved. When my apartment was broken into and my laptop stolen, I didn't think twice about replacing it with another Dell. The Dell Latitude D520 Laptop seemed like a good replacement option. It has been such a disappointment. For starters, the Latitude is bigger and considerably heavier than the Inspiron. I though technology was supposed to be getting better, smaller, and lighter! I had my Inspiron for over 4 years without any problems (except I picked up one nasty virus and had to wipe the hard drive- but that wasn't the computer's fault). On the other hand, I've only had my Latitude for a little over 2 years and I've had a number of problems. The CD/DVD drive is horrible. I was bad the day I got it; it is worse now. It is noisy, overheats, freezes regularly (it's like watching tv shows on the internet when you have a bad connection and it keeps having to "buffer"), and frequently it simply wont play the last several tracks of a CD. I've called customer support and they refuse to admit there might be something wrong with it.  The battery life is appalling. When new, the battery lasted 2-3 hours. Within a month or two you're lucking to make it to the 2 hour mark. By 6 months, a full charge lasts about an hour. It only lasts about 5 minutes after about a year and a half. And it can't be that I just had a crummy battery, because I had to replace it, and the second one is following the exact same pattern. Also, the batteries are expensive and hard to find (even though the computer isn't that old). After less than 2 ½ years, the screen kept going black (an inverter issue, I think). Thankfully, I had got the extended warranty. Which brings me to my last complaint: what has happened to Dell customer support? It used to be so good. This time I called and was transferred 6 times before they just hung up on me- and I never got any further than giving my service tag number. Plus the call center is clearly in India and they all speak with very thick accents and often don't understand you. The live chat was a bit better, but you still had to wait ages for the agent to respond. I doubt I'll be getting another Dell; and I hate my Latitude D520.

My HP Laptop-My Buddy OK, I'm not a computer geek or a young person but, I really enjoy my computer. I mourned the passing of the IBook my son sent me a couple years ago. I needed to get a new computer and one I could afford. I did a lot of research and an Apple was out of the question. I searched and found my HP Laptop...love it. The screen is big enough for even me to see....resolution's great and it's easy to use...affordable too. We spend a lot of time together surfing, e-mailing, doing job applications, etc. We older folks need to keep up with the times...my HP Laptop makes me feel very modern. This is a very different system from my "deceased" computer but, it is what I learned on (yes, I went to a tec school at 55 to learn computers). What I can't remember my buddy can tell me in it's "in house" help library. Very pleased with this product and would recommend it to any regular person...don't know enough hi-tech to recommend it to a hi-tech user.

The Dell Latitude D520 laptop is very useful. It works very well and doesn't give me any problems. It's virtually easy to use.  The bluetooth works great. It makes it easy to tranfer something to my cell phone or visa versa. The built in wireless is also useful so you can take it where ever you go. You don't have to worry about trying to find a jack to pug into.

The Dell Latitude D520 laptop is totally awful. It has barely worked at all since I got it. This is my second Dell laptop, because my school requires me to have one, and I have hated both of them. The motherboard has had to be replaced over and over again. I get the blue screen of death every other month or so. I've had to replace my harddrive numerous times. I've had to replace my keyboard once, and my screen twice. It's ricidulous. I'm lucky I have such a great warrnty or I'd be in trouble! Don't get this laptop or any other Dell laptop.
