E6410 - An improvement on the E6400
This laptop is pretty much a straight current technology upgrade of the E6400 model from dell. it also does not seem to have the overheating issues that the E6400 had. They must have redesigned the shell of the laptop, to help reduce heat and prevent dust from collecting. This is the newest line of laptops that my work has been using. I ran a side by side test with the E6400, with the exact same harddrives, to test the performance difference. I noticed that overall there was about a 20% performance increase, when running our VMware virtual machines, and our software inside of that. We had gotten the Core i5 model, so the hyperthreading helped keep the VM moving at a good pace, while not slowing down the rest of the laptop functions. The look of the new style is pretty much the same as the 6400. I like that they kept the dual USB/E-Sata port, which has been working great for transferring large amounts of data quickly between laptops. The DDR3 memory was a bit part of the performance boost(after the CPU). Overall this laptop is much more worth the money than the previous 6400 version, both for the performance increase, and for the reliability with the overheating issue being gone now.
