Dell Latitude D520 Review

My Dell is easy to use, reliable, and functional.  On the rare occasion that I have had problems with my computers, a tech person comes out very quickly and personally takes care of my computer right there on site.  The tech support has been fabulous.

I have experienced far fewer crashed with my Dell than I ever have with any other computer.  Every computer freezes up now and then, but my Dell does it far less than any other  machine I have ever worked with.

The wireless internet is also awesome.  There is a wizard that makes connecting to the web easy, no matter what the situation.  I was at a new location with a friend who had their HP with them.  We were trying to connect to the wireless internet there.  It was not as simple as it should have been, and no matter what she did, she couldn't log in.  I, on the other hand, had no problems.  I simply fired up the wizard, and it did all the troubleshooting and problem solving for me.  The next thing I knew, I was all hooked up, connected, and surfing away. 

My previous laptop struggled with multi-tasking.  If I were running multiple programs at the same time, it would overwhelm my system and I would struggle with getting everything to work properly without the entire system freezing up.  That is very rarely a problem with my Dell Latitude D520.  I am able to run Microsoft Word applications, Microsoft Publisher applications, basic pre-loaded calculations, such as the calculator, and surf multiple websites simultaneously with no problems at all. 

If I were to have one complaint, I would wish that the USB ports were more durable.  I am not sure what is going on, but in the last couple of months, I have found that one of my USB ports is no longer correctly reading my flash drives.  This is highly frustrating when I am working on a project, or trying to get a document from someone else.

Lastly, I use projection screens a lot for work. I have found that other people I work with sometimes struggle with connecting their laptops to the various projecters.  Sometimes, no matter what they do, they just cannot seem to get it to work.  However, I have had great luck.  Whenever I plug my laptop up to a projector, it always works. 

Overall, I am very pleased with my Dell and will buy another one in a heart beat.  I look forward to buying either one with a yellow cover, or the new, laptop that sports my favorite NFL team, the Broncos.  It comes highly recommended.
