This computer was a hugh disappointment!!!!!  This was our first computer purchase for ourselves.  It is not worth the high price we paid for the headache it has caused.  We felt Dell was a very reputable company, that's not the case anymore.  After about 2 months of use the computer began crashing...

This is a great laptop. I would recom.mend it to anyone. I have used it for work for a year now and find it very easy to access my email on it, view everything on it because it has a nice, big screen and it is a good computer overall. Great machine. Don't know what else I can say about it, but that I would recommend it to my own children. I bought this Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop to be used at college and I am very happy and satisfied with its preformance. I can do everything I was doing when using my desk top computer. Price was right and has a fastactic warrenty........................................

Ok, as an actual user of an Inspiron 1501, I can honestly say that this has been a great buy. This other review that is in this page is not a fair review because it is stating an opinion in general of Dell instead of writing about the actual product.

My Inspiron specks are a little different from the one advertised. Mine, which I had now for 4 days today (8/30/08) has an AMD Athlon X2 1.9 GHz processor with 2 GB of RAM (Insp. 1526 can be expandeble to 4 GB of RAM) with a 160 GB HD, a DVD RW, and Windows Vista Home Premium. I bought this laptop from QVC i n May when it was the Special of the Day.  It came with a case, a package of programs, and a skin to decorate the laptop with that had to be ordered. It also has all the cords that are necessary to connect this laptop to another computer and download from it.  The software for transferring programs from other computer is also included.  The operating system is Microsoft Vista.

My other computer, a desktop, has Microsoft Windows XP as an operating system.  There is a learning curve to being comfortable using Vista.  I really enjoyed most of the programs that came...

I went back to college after being in the workforce for a while.  This was challenging enough.  Between my teaching job, and taking night classes, I found that it was even more challenging trying to take my work for both from one place to another and depend on the computer at work or school being available, working correctly, etc.  Not to mention being able to get to my computer at home with teenagers around.  In November of last year, I ordered my Dell after much research.  I found the best deal and added the Vista Ultimate upgrade.  My Dell has made my life so much easier.  If my friend... read full review »

This is my first laptop, and I love it. I bought a new Dell desktop in Feb., and I was really torn because I couldn't decide which to get, so a few months later, I bought a laptop, too. I am no longer limited to sitting in my office on the computer all day and night, I can sit on the couch or at the kitchen table and do other things that I need to be doing. It's been very freeing. I find the Dell Inspiron 1501 to be the perefect gift for my wife. She has been using a Compaq laptop for over five years and needed to upgrade. The technological advances in the last few years have made laptops less expensive then ever. The Dell incorporates wireless technology so she can sit in the recliner while accessing online accounts, doing the online gaming she loves, and Instant Messaging with my mother, who lives on the West Coast. All from our living room in Ohio!

My husband and I both got one of these computers for Christmas and they are great. I have online classes and I have plenty of space to store my assignments and pictures and whatever else I want. I am very happy with the performance of this product. It came with Windows Vista and it works great. easy to understand and with 'internet protected mode' on, it will ask before it downloads anything. The components of this computer break down after about 2 years of ownership. I suggest everyone get a warentee with the purchase of a dell that is longer than 2 years.  My computer screen's hinges are broken and the battery dies after 30 min. of being unplugged.  Also, the RAM and drive memory aren't the best in the world, especially if you are trying to operate programs such as photoshop or autocad.

This is the best value anywhere when purchased through the Dell Outlet. I routinely buy these systems with the works - including a 3 yr warranty for about one thousand dollars. PC's are half price. For that price I get a dual core, 2 GhZ AMD or Intel, 2 GB of memory and a large fast drive. They work great, look great and last - with one exception. Just like every vendor out there, they buy parts from everywhere and the one part that stands the most chance of dying is the drive. I bought this computer last year.  I am very pleased with it.  The only thing I have problems with is that when I am in a seminar for college it doesn't like to type very well.  I don't know if it is the computer or the internet.  This has a real nice screen and very nice laptop.  I bought my sister one and she really like it as well.  If I have problems Dell support is always there to help.  I would by a Dell computer again.  It is nice and I take it with me when I go on vacation and sometimes to work when I am running late on my assignments for school.  This wasn't that expensive for... read full review »
