We bought our new Dell laptop a couple of months ago when our previous laptop died on us. My husband knows much more about the workings of a computer (and the computer lingo), so I asked him to do most of the technical research. We found an awesome deal for a pretty much "fully loaded" computer, according to his calculations.
Although I miss our Microsoft Office package, this computer comes already equipped with a spreadsheet and a word processor that almost exactly mimic the Microsoft Word and Excel packages. I was very pleased with this.
I love the fact that this computer is very lightweight. Being a laptop, we carry it where we need it throughout our home (kitchen for recipes, family room for printing purposes and to watch TV, our favorite chair to relax awhile, etc.). It is very easy to unplug from the power source and roam around as needed. My arms/legs don't get tired carrying and/or holding it.
My one issue with the computer (and I'm sure I'll get the hang of this) is that when I am using the built-in mousepad, the screen size (resolution?) gets bigger or smaller sometimes. It has something to do with the sort of dragging that we tend to do when searching. It doesn't happen every time I'm scrolling, but it happens often enough to become annoying. The fix is simple (click on the %size in the bottom right-hand corner), but it is just a bit of a nuisance.
Other than that, we are very pleased with our new Dell Inspiron computer. We are daily discovering new great features that we didn't know existed!
