Has been great for our needs!

5

My husband and I purchased the Inspiron 560 after reluctantly giving up on our 5-year-old computer, which was still running but as slow as molasses!  We were concerned that were weren't getting a powerful-enough, fast-enough computer, but boy were we wrong! This computer has worked great for our needs: surfing the web, uploading and sharing pictures and videos, emailing, instant messaging, playing small computer games and watching DVDs.   I definitely thing we got the best value for our money with this computer.   We could have spent a lot more and gotten an even faster, slicker machine, but this computer has surpassed our expectations, and we were definitely trying to spend as little as possible! Added bonuses are that the machine itself is attractive looking and blends in with our dark-stained computer desk, and that it is easy to clean and to use.  I have no idea why Mac users are always complaining about PCs! Our experience has been great!

The best computer when you weigh price vs. quality

5

I ordered this exact model back in January and still to this date I am very pleased. A lot of research went into my final decision and what I determined was that this was the best possible value you can get in a desktop. The only models I would prefer to the 560 are the 560S and the 580S (S stands for 'Slim') and that is only because they are about half the width and take up much less space. Other than that, I have zero complaints about this CPU. Sure, it is a bit bulky, but if you have the space, it is not a problem. I upgraded from a laptop I bought in 2005, which sounded like a jet engine when it would run. I had feared a bigger, beastly desktop would be even worse but I was very wrong. This thing runs so silently that I can't even tell it's on. And it never heats up my room, which was also a worry for me. The Core 2 Duo processor is not only the best processor based on value, but one of the best you can buy (sans those made for computer gaming). The core quad processor isn't quite as fast and although it seems to be more popular, this one is where you should invest your money. 8GB of RAM is about twice as much as anyone needs, but I'm not complaining. And the 1TB HD is also more than I'll ever need, but hopefully I'll put 10 years into this computer and will eventually use it up. That's really all I can hope for in a PC.

The Dell Inspiron 560 is a solid machine I have enjoyed using

4

This computer is very very solid.  It has the quad core processor, a sizeable harddrive and 4 gigs of ram is enough to run just about anything short of hardcore video editing without any slowdown whatsoever.  I have not had any problems with the OS crashing, which seems to be a widespread problem with vista but I have yet to have troubles.  You shouldnt either as long as youre relatively knowledgeable when it comes to software and troubleshooting.   I bought this system primarily to run graphics software and I have smoothly installed everything so far, including Photoshop and Illustrator, without any speed bumps.  If I had any criticism it would be that the default sound system that is provided with the machine is essentially lackluster, but then sound is kind of a neglected thing when it comes to Dell systems, and its not necessarily a reflection of the capabilities of the onboard soundcard.   It's sleek, fluid, highly functional and decently priced.  I would recommend it to anyone looking for a solid computer without a huge pricetag.

Great system - fast and trouble free

5

This  system was very easy to set up.  I was up and running in 45 minutes.  Wonderful instructions included.  I love Windows 7 and the computer is very fast and simple to use.  It has everything I need.  It came with a 21" monitor and this makes it very easy to have several programs up an once and easily go from one to the other.

Great Computer

4

I purchased this computer in March 2010 and love it.  I have had no problems with the computer whatsoever.  I can now play alot of older games that I couldn't because I had Vista on my other computer .  This comes with windows 7 and I am in heaven.  I can have so much more room for alot of games, music and downloads for my sims 2 and 1 games .  The graphics are integrated but wonderful because now I can play the sims 2 with no problems on it.  It is so easy to handle.  I had one small issue with not being able to get it out of hybernation .  I contacted Dell and the gentleman helped me on the phone.  Right away he cleared up the small problem and I was up and running again.  I would really recommend a dell it is very low priced and lots of hard drive, ram, decent processor speed.  This is a must computer for anyone who wants a low priced computer.  I love my dell and highly recommend it to anyone who needs a low priced but great computer.

A piece of JUNK

1

I purchase a Dell Inspiron 560 in May, 2010.  My first Dell lasted 9 years and no problems.  The new one lasted less than 90 days.  Repeated calls to Dell didn't help.   I keeped asking for a new computer with each call and was always told no. Finally the hard drive died in Auguest.   The tech they send to install the new hard drive,  didn't know what he was doing.  I was told  by Dell, the job would take 2 hours, he left in 45 minutes. He took the old hard drive, with all of my files, and didn't put them on the new hard drive. He didn't reinstall the CD drive to the computer nor did he restall any of the software that came with the computer.  I spend 2 hours talking to Dell trying to reinstall it myself.  The person gave me his phone number and extension to leave a message if I had any more problems. The next day, I called him, as it would not load any CD.  I am still waiting for a return call.  On Labor Day, I called and asked it the tech would be there the next day to fix the computer.  No, they would be sending a new computer, since I had some many problems. Then they want the old computer returned in under 10 days.   DO NOT PURCHASE A DELL.   I am sorry I didn't listen to other people, and purchased a different brand.
