I absolutly loveeeeee love love my lil notbook it is so great! Its small and lightweight and and i can pick it up an move it with me as i move around the house, i can cook and work with my dell still at hand! It doesn't have a  cd rom or good internet mail, but hotmail n gmail have good mailers too so no biggie. I dislike that it don't have a cd rom the most. I use flash so its ok too, but to those who don't have a flash, and get this dell, u might wanna buy a flash. Other then that is just a fast, (for size) easy to use, lightweight it comes with quite a bit of extra options. Loved it so much we bought one for my mom who is computer dummy! SHE LOVES IT TOO :)

I have owned my Dell Mini for over 6 months now and have been pretty thrilled with it.  Mine came with Integrated Webcam, Memory Card Reader, HDMI Out, TV Tuner, Windows 7 Starter, and a 6-Cell Battery.  The first thing I had to do was remove Windows 7 and install Windows XP.  Windows 7 requires too many resources to be installed in any netbook, especially one that won't let me upgrade past 1GB of RAM.  Windows 7 was sluggish with basic tasks and using the TV Tuner was unrealistic.  Windows XP has been great.  The netbook is fairly heavy for a netbook, not a significant weight, but compared to other brands you notice the difference.  It could be because of the big obtrusive 6-cell battery, but that's the cost you pay for great battery life.  I would not recommend the TV Tuner add on, it's pricey and does not function very well unless you live near broadcast antennas.  As a netbook it does what I expected it to do: surf the internet, play some movies and music, emulate old games, word processing, Skype, etc.  And best of all it does it all in a small portable package.  Most people who give negative reviews of netbooks don't understand what a netbook should be used for so I hope this review helps people understand: a netbook is designed for doing those daily online tasks you do everyday like check mail or your favorite sites while provide a great deal of portability and low pricing.  They are not for heavy gaming or multitasking.  My Dell Mini does what is suppose to do and it does it quite well.

I started using this netbook when I was traveling a lot over a three month period, and this netbook was certainly a lifesaver. I downloaded a copy of Microsoft Office 2010, and I was golden; the netbook pretty decently accesses the internet, and Office ran pretty well as well. It should be noted that this is a netbook and therefore has its limitations; after the first year, the computer significantly slowed down, and it couldn't really handle much more than Office in terms of programs. In terms of other issues, in order to access the F1-12 keys, you need to hit the 'Fn' key, and I could never quite get it to work properly. Sometimes the F keys worked, sometimes nothing would happen. It is probably the silliest design flaw since most of the F keys don't have a primary function, but it's manageable. Also, like some other Dell products, heat is sometimes an issue, and there's no fan (also, no built in optical drive). That being said, I don't really have many issues, and I'm happy with the buy. If you are in need of a netbook for internet or other small uses on the go, the mini-inspiron is a solid buy for a decent price.
