I have had my Dell Inspirion E1705 now for about 3 years. I absolutely love it! I decided to go with a 17" screen because my eyes tire easily and I just really wanted the bigger window for viewing ease. I also do some graphic work too so it helps that was as well.
The one thing I can say is it's a little on the heavier side but not too bad. It came loaded with Windows Vista as well. At first I was a little put off by that since I had just become accustomed to Windows XP and I am always a little resistant to change, especially to untried products just out on the market not to long. I can say that after a little while of unhappy adjustment, I did begin to really like it and now I love it. More so then Windows XP now.
As far as the Inspirion E1705 (also can be found under 9400 series), I had the occasion to need some parts for it due to my stupidity (a new keyboard and touchpad plate). I had no problem locating these items online to replace them and they were pretty easy to even install myself given instructions found online for guidance. The pricing was even reasonable with two options, Grade A which was new or Grade B which they say has a few "scratches". I chose B but I found no scratches or anyting that would make it look like it wasn't brand new!
