The Dell Inspiron E1405 would be fine for people who don't use their computer every day. However, for people who travel with their laptop a lot, or people who aren't extremely kind to their computer, I wouldn't recommend it. I'm a college student and have had the computer for three years now. My Dell warranty ran out two years ago, and if it weren't for my school technology services, it would certainly not be in any functioning shape today. Once your warranty runs out, Dell is completely unhelpful. Their online support is limited, and speaking to a representative without a warranty is impossible. I have had problems with the operating system, with my hard drive, and with the physical computer itself. The screen is coming unhinged, buttons have fallen off, and the keypad scroll doesn't work. Many of my friends with Dell laptops have had the same problems, so it doesn't seem to be specific to this model. However, I must be honest and say that I am not the kindest person to my laptop, and it certainly endures a lot of travel and use.
