My wife's pc was rather old, and I couldn't upgrade it without replacing the motherboard and processor. I had decided to build a new system for her (for the third time). I'd spec'ed out all the hardware needed, and found the cost to be almost $1200 (quad core processor, 250Gb hard drive, 2Gb RAM, Windows XP). I decided that I'd check out Dell's site and see what they had to offer. I found the Inspiron 530 minitower (quad core processor, 500Gb hard drive, 3Gb Ram, 19" widescreen monitor, Windows XP with the Vista license) for $799. I could not pass that up. The total cost was $849, and shipping was free. The system is three months old, and there's never been a glitch.
I highly recommend Dell.
