Dell Inspiron 1545 Review Summary

Dell is recognized as one of the top laptop manufactures in the world, but our community is evenly split on the Inspiron 15 (1545). While one reviewer praised it saying: “Vista works well and is compatible with Microsoft 2007 or office.” But, another reviewer had continual problems with the 15” laptop, and said, “I wouldn't suggest to anyone to buy this product.” Dell fitted the Inspiron 15 (1545) with a 15.6” TFT active matrix display, powerful Intel Core 2 Duo processor, up to 4GB (shared) DDR2 Dual-channel RAM, wireless LAN, IEEE 1394 port, and (4) USB 2.0 ports. Overall our community of reviewers is so-so on this notebook computer. Read what our reviews have to say about the Dell Inspiron 15 (1545) as well as the Hewlett Packard HP Pavilion DV6000 and Acer Aspire notebook computers.

What do consumers look for when they wanted to buy something in today's market scenario? To get the best out of every dollar they spend on it. Yes, good quality at a very reasonable price. I'm no different too.

I've used several laptops like IBM, HP, Compaq, Dell (other models)...

I used to be a faithful Dell buyer, but as of this week Dell has lost another customer! I have a 1 year old Dell laptop, a lightbulb burned out in it. They wanted $400 to fix it (turns out it is a $20 part!), so I decided to get a new lighter laptop, the Inspiron 1545.

I have not had the laptop for 2...

When I originally made the decision to go back to school, I wasn't thinking about getting a new computer.  My husband and I own 3 other desktop computers, what more could I need?  It was the hubby that came to me with the suggestion to look for a laptop and its not like I was averse to the idea!  I'd wanted a laptop for years but just couldn't justify the purchase.  Now that I'd basically been given the thumbs up, I started to check around.  Having worked at a well known electronics store for three years, I had some idea of what I wanted and what I didn't.  The biggest stumbling block, however,...

my wife and i got the dell inspiron 1545 a few weeks ago and its the best purchase we made this year so far, we customized it on-line to our need's and use's. we got the window vista home premiuem with 2 gb of memory, 160 gb hard drive the basic edition with the wireless internet, wow what a product it loads up fast and you can a few programs at a time without any slow downs or freezing. and the wireless internet is a clear strong signal from anywhere in the house.we strongly recommend this laptop to anyone on a budget, we plan on getting a couple more for our teenage boys for school.

The DELL Inspiron 1545 is the perfect size laptop for someone who is used to a desk top but wants the convenience of a mobile computer.  Great for the older consumer who doesn't want to be bothered with all of those super tiney keys and screen.  I have an 8 inch laptop which I can fit into my purse, but this is the one I use for everything else.  I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a home laptop.  It came with Windows Vista which I had heard horror stories about, but with a little experimantation I was able to figure all of the new upgrades by myself.  I am by no means a computer...

Well the Dell Inspiron 1545 15 inch laptop is a good buy. I like it becuse its simple looking with solid colors like red, pink, ocean blue, black and of course the color i chose. Which is regular blue becuse it was twenty dollars less than the others. I ordered the laptop online so i had to have it deliverd. Which was ok other than the fact that i cost me about fourty dollars and and it took about two weeks to get here. The keypad is great its big enough for the people like me with big fingers that cannot have notebooks purely becuse of our hand size. The mouse pad works great i have never had...

This computer is perfect for anyone from the less computer-savvy to the PC geeks. I personally use it for Facebook and school work. But it is perfect for storing music, photos, videos, anything. With a 320GB hard drive, you get a lot of bang for your buck. It crashed on me once, but I blame myself for that incident and because of the included Operating System and Drivers discs, I was able to restore my computer back to its factory settings with ease. I'm writing this review on it right now! It's a little on the heavier/wider side so ladies, unless you have a big purse, don't expect to take it on...

This is a great computer with lots of storage space.  I have lots of documents on my desktop for ease of access when completing research projects.  My son has video clips stored on the hard drive in addition to lots of music.

I have quick access when online.  I can play games with other pages open looking for information.  Using firefox, I have had 10 pages open at once, and the computer has not slowed down yet no matter where I've connected.  The wireless internet card works great too.  I have never had problems accessing the internet even though I've traveled out of the country several...

I am reviewing my Dell 1545 series laptop. First I love my laptop. This is the first laptop I have ever owed. Love the color. I love the design. I love how easy it is to use. I am a little disappointed in 2 errors that keep happening. One error is the screen goes black when I log it. I have to shut the screen, wait about 30 seconds, and then open the screen again. I then have to log back on again.

The second problem I have is I get a Stllog error everything I log on. That is very annoying. I have used the check for problems, but there is nothing. So every time I log on I get the error. I have to...

I just bought the Dell Inspiron a couple days ago and am in love.  The laptop is lightweight and came with all the programs I needed pre-installed at a great price.  It is fast and holds a good charge.  It does not overheat and is easy to use.  I am using it for my online classes at school and am able to carry it to and from work without any problems.  The wireless card that was preinstalled is great.  I had no issues setting up my internet connections.  It connects quickly and easily.  The keyboard is easy to use and comfortable when typing. I got it at Staples and was able to get a wireless...

This is the first laptop that I have ever owned...but I find it easy to use and easy to navigate. I learn something new that the computer has to offer every week. I especially love the WiFi feature. I drive for a living and take my laptop with me every where and have been able to get online just about every where I have taken it.

I like the built in Web cam feature. I have not used it a lot but I have played around with it a little and it was easy to use. The same with the still camera feature.

It did not take me very long to navigate with Windows Vista. At first I did not think I would like...

This is a good computer that works really well. The screen is beautiful but i am not a fan of the glossiness. It smudges really easily and you have to stop caring about them. I love the toolbar but i am not a fan of vista but it is what you mainly find on newer laptops. I use this laptop several times a day and it is a great one that will last you a long time.

The inspiron is a great lap top! Very easy to use. Has everything you need to navigate online. Also great media resources but not so complicated you have to be a techie to understand how to use them.  Wow was that  a change!

I bought the Dell Inspiron 1545 on a "daily deal" website that was forwarded to me.  I couldnt find alot of info regarding the Ubuntu software, but I felt for $300, you couldnt really go wrong....  WRONG!   The laptop itself has no issues.  The problem, by far and away, is Ubuntu!  Its difficult, non-compatible with ANY other programs, and not user friendly.  Its confusing and awkward.  I cannot use yahoo messenger, Kodak picture editor/uploader, or any sort of picture viewers I used on my OTHER Dell laptop (see, not a dell thing at all!).  I would like to switch over to Windows, but it...
