I recently purchased my first laptop. It was a breeze to set up . I have had absolutely no complaints about my dell inspiron 1525. I recommend it to even amateur computer users. Ordering from dell was easy. I will stick with dell for all my future computers. It was so nice to be able to personalize everything... read full review »

I went out looking for a computer last June and went out to Wal Mart and bought my Inspiron 1525 because it was a great price and like many other people thought that because it was a Dell it would have been a dream come true..... YEAH RIGHT. The computer has worked alright up until about a month ago... read full review »

I have purchased about 5 Dell computers. I buy nothing else. My Dell Inspiron 1525 that I am using now was given to me for my birthday by my son. He also owns two Dell computers. We have two lap tops and one desk pc.

Dell makes a great product tailored to your needs. I am an everyday computer user and I love my lap top.

I really can't say that I have had any problems with my Dell's. I have never had to call customer service honestly!!

I have had problems but they weren't because of the computer.

Great Product!!

This is my first Dell I heard their customer service was lacking and that they were working on improving it!

I purchased this laptop 9 months ago! The DVD burner broke after burning 3 DVD'd during that time! They sent me a replacement part and without informing me are requiring that I return it within 15 days or contact them and let them know the broken part will be returned later. I am currently out of town and called to inform them the broken part would be returned when I got back in town.

If this is an improvement in Customer Service then I would hate too see what it was before! I spoke to 4 different...

My hubby bought this baby for me when I requested my own laptop.  He actually did all the research and made the final selection.  I have been very pleased with it.  I love that you can pick your own color (I selected blue).  I love the keyboard - the color, the feel, the sleekness.  The computer works well, though I did have a slight problem with sleep mode.  However, technical support was fantastic!  There was only a few second hold time.  The representative was very patient as I described my problem.  Ultimately, they were able to fix the problem with very little effort.  Great computer. ...

My daughter bought me a Dell Inspiron 1525 as a Christmas gift in Dec.2008. She put everything together and I started using it in Feb 09. I loved the baby green color, light weight and slightly bigger screen. I was so excited to have my own laptop. My happiness didn't last very long at all. I started having problems such as sticky touch pad, and then "jumping cursors". So when you click on one thing the computer clicks on whatever it wants. So my first service call was made in March 09 again numerous times between then and July 09.   I also had a non working Wireless Card and the computer shuts...

My husband bought this for me because we both thought DELL was superior to the rest.  Well, not anymore!  Things were running slow on my 6 yr old laptop and I finally agreed to get a new one in Feb. 2008.  This one gives me so much trouble.  The touch pad didn't work right from the day I got it. The pointer would jump around while I was typing an email, EVEN when I tried shutting off the touchpad altogether.  When I installed iTunes the computer no longer recognized the CD/DVD drive.  It randomly shuts itself off for no reason while I am using it plugged in.  The clock could not keep time... read full review »

I have been spoiled!  I received my Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop last year for my birthday.  Vista had just been released a few months earlier, and the nation was crying over the newest operating system.  I was uneasy about it, but I have had NO problems with Vista or with the Dell laptop.  I use this PC exclusively now.  It is fast and it has never given me a problem.

The touch pad drives me crazy sometimes.  I am a typist; so both hands are on the keyboard at all times.  The touch pad picks up on any movement as a command to move the cursor.  I have to move the cursor off the area I am...

My husband bought me this Dell laptop a year ago so that I wouldn't have to fight my 18 year old son for computer time.  It is the first time I have ever used Windows VISTA and I am still not convinced that I like it any better than my old  version on my PC.  I do, however, love the convenience of my Dell laptop and love being able to transport it whenever and wherever I want to use it.  I volunteer for a humanitarian organization and need access to my computer at all hours of the day and night so I can keep up my communications with people in Africa with whom I work.  It is nice to have my...

So I have owned my Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop for a year now, and I love it. For school use, photo sharing, and just playing computer games online or like solitaire its the best. Still runs like the first day I got it and I use it almost everyday. The only thing I can find wrong is that it gets hot really quick, so extended stays on the laptop are probably not the best idea. I have actually burnt my leg once, so my cell phone gets used as a prop to keep it lifted off of whatever surface I have it sitting on. and the only other thing abput it is that the screen just lifts up, there no lock or latch...

I have my computer about 1 year now and I have a love hate relationship with it.  It is very easy to use and it's a perfect fit in your lap.  I love the fact that you can customize the colors too.  I like the fact that it is thin and has wi-fi built in.

My concerns a little longer however.  In 4 months after purchase my computer wasn't charging.  Long story, in 4 months they had to replace the hard-drive.  Wow.. Since that I have been in contact with customer service every two months.   The computer freezes all the time and I have sticky keys.  In addition to it becoming very slow and...

This is the most popular Dell model.  When I ordered the computer, Dell told me that it would be three weeks before they could ship it.  Comes the due date and they inform me that it will be another four weeks before they can ship.  Had they told me that it would be over two months from the time I ordered until the time I receivd my computer, I would have gone elsewhere.  But, they've got me so far into the process (and shipped me some peripherals) so I have no other option but to wait for them.

I called customer service to find out what they could do for me.  In short -- NOTHING.  They really...

Up until the past six months, I had always been a desktop PC user with a wireless mouse.

THEN, I got a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop already loaded with Windows Vista and no seperate mouse.

After using Windows XP for soooo long, let me tell you:"Getting used to Vista" is about the most frustrating thing I've ever been through.  Not to mention, getting used to the built-in mouse.  Boy, that thing was all over the place.

Now, I can't say anything but good about my laptop!  Dell built it according to my specifications and they did a great job!  By the way, I now have my wireless mouse...

First saw Inspiron 1525  at Walmart.  Called Dell sales center..the sales person talked up some additions so I ended up spending considerably more including extended warranty.  Dell support is a bad joke.  Their so called assistants must be hugely overworked as the message is always.."busy helping other customers" or similar message. This lap top always restarts no matter how I turn it off.  The battery has a ridiculously short life span.  I made a big mistake buying this inferior  product..no more Dell for me.

i had a dell before and it didn't impress me. this computer is lighter, sleeker and wayyy more productive. VERY easy to transport.
i just wish they offered windows pro instead of vista. also the sound does not get very loud, which can be problematic with background noise such as fans, etc. however the computer itself does not make a lot of noise, which is nice, unlike my last dell.
overall, it kind of looks like a mac with the new layout. the fact that you can choose the computer color is a plus, though obviously not necessary.
