Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop —

My husband bought this for me because we both thought DELL was superior to the rest.  Well, not anymore!  Things were running slow on my 6 yr old laptop and I finally agreed to get a new one in Feb. 2008.  This one gives me so much trouble.  The touch pad didn't work right from the day I got it. The pointer would jump around while I was typing an email, EVEN when I tried shutting off the touchpad altogether.  When I installed iTunes the computer no longer recognized the CD/DVD drive.  It randomly shuts itself off for no reason while I am using it plugged in.  The clock could not keep time when unplugged. Then while talking to the tech guy trying to get the drive to work one day, a piece broke off the door to the drive.  DELL says things like that are not covered by the warranty, so they would not fix it, even though it was less than 6 months old.  The only thing DELL finally fixed was the touchpad and the clock.  I called them four times and they always wanted to DL something they claimed would fix it and then re-install all the original software, none of which helped at all.  I still can not use iTunes so if you have an iPod DON"T get one of these computers!
