I bought my Dell laptop after I graduated from high school, and although it's served me well, there have been some issues with it. I have found dell customer service to be less than satisfactory. It's hard to get past the automated options and talk to a real person, and once you get to a real person, they are usually unhelpful. For instance, a year after I got my computer, my ethernet card stopped working. I called Dell and they made me turn my computer on and off, and then told me if that didn't fix it, it must be my internet service provider's problem. It eventualy turned out that my ethernet card broke, but Dell never once suggested that the problem might be with my computer, they just blamed it on the internet. Also, there are no Dell stores, like there are Mac stores. Dell says if you want it fixed under their warranty, you have to send it in, and they will send it back to you in 6-8 weeks. I don't know about you, but I can't really go six to eight weeks without my computer. In general, though, I have found the computer to be a good value for the money.
