Bought my Dell Inspiron 1520 back in 2007. I originally went to have one built, but when I got done with the bells and whistles, it was going to cost me $2500.00 at least. Well, I almost gave up on getting one, but then i went to the Dell Outlet store, and except for one very minor issue, they had a 1520 listed that totally matched the one that I had built. And the list price was a whopping $1150.00. Then I called and spoke to the outlet rep, and he said the laptop that I was going to buy was basically brand new; they had just finished the building of it, but the customer had changed his mind and decided against buying it. So they stuck it in their outlet store. He said that unlike the regular 1520's, the one that I was about to buy was custom built with the highest quality components. And judging by my 1520's performance, he was correct. Here's why:
My 1520 is built to last. The build is the sturdiest I have ever seen and felt. The connection is flawless, and I never lose a signal. The keyboard is just awesome to use. The built-in webcam, mic, and bluetooth also are all dynamic and outstanding. but one of the most intriguing features of this laptop is the display screen and the graphics card. The display is unlike anything I have ever seen. It is super bright, sharp, and crystal clear. No dead pixels whatsoever. It is flawless, and boots up extremely fast.
Yes sir, I am very happy with my Dell Inspiron 1520, and I highly recommend it to Everyone and Anyone. If you are a gamer, splendid; If you are a media playing nut like me, then outstanding, because it fits that bill too. This is most definitely the best all purpose mainstream gaming media laptop that I have ever seen. It might weigh a little bit more than other laptops, and some people might not like that, but All laptops just can't be flimsy and feeling like they will crumble at the slightest bump. This laptop is built solid and, as I said, built to last; if that makes it weigh slightly more, then so be it. I would much rather have one like this than have one that is built cheap. Dell isn't building the 1520 Inspiron any longer, but you can still find one of these beauties on sites like Ebay and Craigslist, or maybe Amazon. If and when you do though, buy it!! You will Not be disappointed!! Thanks!
