Dell Inspiron 1501, Turion X2 TL-60 (2.0GHz) 1GB DDR2, 9-cell Battery, Vista Home Premium, IGP 256MB... PC Notebook —

I bought my Dell Inspriron 1501 back in 2003 to take with to college.  It works great for general programs, pictures and music.  The speakers could be a little louder for watching movies but it's also easy to plug in external speakers.  It also seems to have a lot of space for storage, I've never had a problem with running out of space on the hard drive.

My biggest problem with the laptop is that at some point the battery stopped charging or holding a charge.  Because I had the power cord I would just plug it in when I needed to use it.  This was okay until the power cord wires were going bad.  When I ordered a new one I also bought a new battery.  However, my laptop will not recognize that there's even a battery connected.  After returning the battery I continued to use my new power cord.  Recently the connection between the powercord and laptop seems loose, so sometimes it won't start.  The laptop is 6 years old and I get lots of looks like "when did you get that?" because it's so much bulkier than today's laptops.  I might just need to invest in a new one.
