Dell Inspiron 1501, Turion X2 TL-60 (2.0GHz) 1GB DDR2, 9-cell Battery, Vista Home Premium, IGP 256MB... PC Notebook Review

My husband and I bought our Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop computer about a year ago, to replace the HP laptop we had (of which we had a lot of problems with). This laptop has the Windows Vista operating system on it, which may contribute to some of the problems we've had with it.

Let me start with the positives. The computer isn't too heavy, has a nice look to it, and has a nice screen display (color). It's fast when on the internet which makes my desktop seem like I'm on dial up. The Dell Inspiron was reasonably priced for the amount of features it had on it.

It has a DVD-RW, 2 GB RAM, & Windows Vista Operating system. There are many more, but I can't remember them all right now.

A couple of negatives. We are already looking to have to replace the battery in the computer, which surprised me, since we've had the laptop just a year. My husband went on to the Dell website and looked at the reviews for the batteries, and our battery actually lasted longer than most others. We've decided not to buy another Dell battery when we replace ours.

Another problem we've had is it freezing up, which may be due to Vista, not the computer itself. My husband would be playing a game or online and all of a sudden have a black screen. In order to get it back, we have to unplug it and remove the battery from it. Then restart the computer. We have no idea what's causing it, but we're glad it doesn't happen several times a day.

I would still recommend this laptop to others, despite it's flaws. It was worth the money in my opinion and I would buy another Dell, laptop or destop again and again.
