Dell Inspiron 1501, Turion X2 TL-60 (2.0GHz) 1GB DDR2, 9-cell Battery, Vista Home Premium, IGP 256MB... PC Notebook Review

The Dell Inspiron 1501 Laptop that I am using to produce this review has proven to be an exceptional value.  In part, that is because it was purchased as one of a pair of like PCs in a promotional program.  Shopping around is important when purchasing major appliances, abd PCs are no exception.  This one was purchased soon after its introduction and the package included Windows Vista Home Premium as the operating system.  Also included was Lap Link , Microsoft Office, Macafee Security Center, Adobe Reader,Roxio Creator DE and a variety of other internet and personal Games and tools.  Two PCs for less than three thousand dollars and also included Skin It  , and online scorce for purchasing vinal skins for personalizing your laptop.  A truly exceptional value was a three year full service warranty.  Although I have not had to have any repairs done, I have 24/7 live support which I have used to help me with a variety of concerns on operating problems due to my inexperince with computer technical issues and Windows Vista issues.  That alone has been a valuble addition to the over all value of my PC.

This PC runs very quietly, it also is much cooler than my previous PC so I have more confidence that I won't fry the hard drive as I often leave it running when not in use.  The sound quality and screen picture is excelent and has personalization controls to fit it to my personal as well as energy needs.

On a negitive note would be the short battery life, which may be able to be improved by using an upgraded battery.  I am also inclined to use the higher energy use settings whether plugged in or on battery.

I have approximatly 9 months remaining on my warrenty,but thus far fell that I have gotten all or more than what I paid for.  This Dell Inspiron 1501 has my vote
