This is one dependable laptop.

My first personal laptop and I've taken it from Hawaii to Washington DC & back. It worked well the whole trip. Used it for personal as well as work and was impressed with its ability to connect to Wifi. Ease of Use Windows 8 installed worked well & the Dell programs did well. Start & set-up was very simple. Battery Life Could be a bit more battery life, but overall it has done ok. Speed/Performance I really appreciate how fast the systems work on this Dell. Design Simple design. Durability So far the travel easiness of this Dell has been great.

I absolutely love this laptop!

I am using this laptop right now! I love it so much. I use it for everything, from my school work to my social networking and all of the sites that I visit. This is a one of a kind laptop that works so well! It definitely exceeded my expectations beyond anything I could ever imagine. It has an outstanding memory storage space and an incredible battery life. Ease of Use This is very easy to use. The only thing that drives me crazy is that it has the newest version of windows on it, and it changes the screen constantly. So that gets a tad bit annoying. Battery Life The battery life on this laptop is so amazing! It can literally last for at least four hours straight without charging it. Support & Service This laptop has such a fabulous support and service system. Speed/Performance I have never used a laptop that is as speedy as this one! It performs great. Design This laptop has a very unique design. Durability This is a very durable laptop. It holds up so well.

Dell inspiron15R

The laptop is adiquate for my needs. I ordered it on line directly from Dell and that was an experience in itself. I talked to a person in chat for more than an hour, I thought I was ordering my computer. No Way.  I had to go back to the site and start all over again. I am not good with copy and paste so I lost most of what I talked about to the chat person. After I had ordered the laptop I got an e-mail with everything that went on in chat. I really am not all that great with figuring out things about a computer. I have things to send back because they are not needed. The computer has enough speed to satisfy me, it is fast and I can play my games on pogo with no problems.  So now I have the ability to go to any room in my house and use my computer.  The computer works great. I have a bit of trouble using the pad to get the cursor to move from place to place, I find it easier to use a mouse. When you get older your hands do not work as well as they use too. I love the freedom I have with the laptop. It will take me a while to learn how to use Windows 7 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 9. I had a great chuckle when I remembered that this has a vidio cam. It is really strange looking at yourself.  I did not order Microsoft Office, which was a mistake on my part because it will not let me download the Microsaft Office that I purchased as an upgrade for my older computer. I may be doing something incorrectly I have to have someone with more computer savey to help me with that, in the meantime  I will try the works program that is advertised when you download the Java program. I just need a program to write letters and list, nothing real fancy. There is a trial wiindows office on here but I do not know if I want to spend that much money to load the permanent one. I'm 65 an*d I do not know if what I wrote will be of any use to anyone, I have just been having fun figuring out how this works. I still have to figure out networking so I can connect the old with the new. I'm afraid that I will have to purchase a windows 7 for my old computer to do that*. This has all been a bit intimidating but fun.

Easy, nice laptop

I got the Inspiron 15R about 2 weeks ago and have had no problems with it so far. I use this laptop for game design, school, web browsing, and it is perfect for all of these uses. The laptop is very easy to use and easy to setup. The touch pad for the mouse is very nice to use and the keyboard is nice to type with. I really like the nice wide screen which makes powerpoint and word easy to use for unit. The speakers are a bit un-hearable though. Over the last few weeks I have been buying lots of computers for my design team, and I got this one for myself, and I love it. Dell's service was very professional and the laptop arrived very quickly. The only negative things I can see about this laptop is the battery life and the speakers. It lasts for a little over 2 hours. Overall, the laptop is very nice and good value for money and I would definitely recommend it to a friend. So, yeah, go get it now, it's worth it!

Awesome laptop!

The Dell Inspiron 15R is perhaps the best Dell laptop that Dell has ever put together. I have been a Dell owner for a lengthy period of time now and gone through several of the company's laptops. I can feel that this is the best constructed and put together ones yet. It is extremely reliable and even though I have dropped it a few times, it keeps working as if nothing has happened. The processor is extremely fast, although I think there are faster ones on the market today, I'm not sure what you would need those for as this one does everything I want done without issue or delay. The hard drive also has enough space to hold everything you pretty much own, though probably still want to back things up! The only negative thing about this laptop in my opinion is that I would prefer the back of the screen / casing to be a bit simpler. Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend the Dell Inspiron 15R to anyone in the market for a new laptop.

Decent buy

For its price, this is a good laptop, but it also has a few cons1. For no reason at all, the fan will ramp up and whir every 2-3 minutes for about 20 seconds, even if there is no spike in CPU load. This can become really distracting in a quiet environment.2.For a 15.6" screen, the resolution is low: 1366x768. The screen is glossy and will reflect light. Outdoors, it's almost impossible to see anything, unless you hunch over the screen to shade it.3.The keyboard is not the greatest- odd placement of the PrintScreen key between Insert and Delete- narrow trackpad buttons, often annoying to hit with the thumb- the arrow keys are too thin, half the height of normal keys- after having used laptops without a numeric keypad for the past few years, the keypad is not only useless; it gets in the way. where I expect Backspace to be, there's now Keypad Minus.- there is no Break key (useful for Win+Break to get the Windows System properties, or Ctrl+Break in command line applications)- there is no context menu key (equivalent to right click on the focused control)So make sure these things don't bother you, or you'll hate the laptop. Try to get a feel for the keyboard and trackpad before bying this.

One of the Best Dell Laptops!

*Why I chose Dell Inspiron 15R: *My cousin helped me find the best deal for a laptop because he knew I needed one as I was going to college in a few months. The Dell Inspiron had the best price for its multipurpose functions, in addition to its unique, attactive, sleek exterior and interior. *My Experience: *Dell was one of my least favorite brands before I had this laptop because I have had a bad experience with their desktops. However, I absolutely loved the Dell Inspiron! Not only did it have an attractive appearance, but it has a very smooth keyboard and number pad. The number pad is also unique because it resembles the number pad of a regular desktop keyboard. In addtion, the wide screen allows you to get the most effective experience while watching shows. This laptop is convenient because it has 4 USB ports, so no need to worry about getting USB extensions! *My Opinion:* The only disadvantage the laptop has is that it is quite big and inconvenient to carry around. The speakers are not as great as most laptops either. Overall, this laptop serves its purpose immensely for its price. **

Dell is the best

5

I have had this dell laptop for coming up on 8 years now, and it has been nothing but durable and reliable for me through the years. Although it is now considered to be slow compared to the newer models, this computer has consistently performed to my expectations. But, I would have to say the best part of buying this laptop was the customer service I received from dell. Two month after I got this laptop, I blew the mother board because of a power surge, I promptly called up dell and they said that they would repair it at no cost to me, and to top that off, they sent a box next day to ship my laptop back to them. I could not believe it, I had my laptop back in like five business days after the problem occured. I've always been the kind of person to buy the cheapest product to save money, but after the good customer service I received, I am must more likely to buy again from dell in the future.  I would never go anywhere else.

Great laptop for a good price

I was looking for a new laptop and this is what I decided on.  I have not been disappointed in this purchase whatsoever.  Here are some of the reasons I really like this laptop: The display is very bright and crisp.  Much better than my previous studio 15.  Also, the speakers on this laptop are very good (which is often an issue with laptops).  It has "surround sound" and two very good speakers on the left and right of hte laptop.  I also really appreciate having the number key pad on the right side, which is very helpful. The keys are also nice and easy to type on as well as big enough to easily maneuver your fingers on. Lastly, I love the i3 processor.  This thing runs very quickly and I have had no hang ups or slow downs when opening many different programs and had lost of things running at the same time.   The glossy look is very nice and the wireless also works quite smoothly.  It comes with Windows 7 and I also really enjoy that. So, I would highly recommend this laptop for anyone looking.

wonderful product

I have had my **Dell Inspiron 15R 15.6" Notebook** for about 4 months now. I use it daily and could not be happier with it. It is a lovely size, easy to use, fast and reliable. I got mine with a baby blue cover and that somehow makes it feel much more like it is mine.  It is easy to transport and I like the top row of keys which lets me control the volume with a touch or manipulate a dvd from the main keyboard. One caveat - mine did not come equipped for dial up internet connection which surprised me and I had to buy an external modem.  I guess that this will not affect too many customers but it certainly surprised me. This is a great all around computer for a student or casual user.  I use mine for managing my photos, for email, music, casual games, net surfing and keeping up with my friends. I would reccomend this product to anyone looking for a computer that both looks good and does everything that you need it to do.
