Back in 2009 this bad boy was released, It is Based on the Centrino 2 platform, the 1440 packs in a very meaty configuration. A P7350 running at 2.0GHz , 3GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive and the new ATI Mobility Radeon HD4330 with 512MB of RAM. This bad boy can do whatever you want, Preloaded with windows vista and all the bells and whistles, Easily surf the net, watch a hd video online.. play some high end games or even work on some family video without and real slow downs or problems. The only problem with this dell is that it is a dell. Dell computers at times can be picky when you install new hardware, Say the Ram, one set goes out.. well you better just replace them all or you will be hitting a blue screen every 5 minutes. Also the 3gb of ram is also a odd choice and should of been made with 4gb or only 2gb. Other then that, this is a great laptop that was worth the money.

My family pulled together and got our daughter the Dell Inspiron 14 1440 Laptop for Christmas.  The neat thing about Dell is that you can customize your own laptop.  We chose to add the Intel Pentium Dual Core T-4300 Processer because of it's reputation, reviews, and speed.  The 14" HD screen is really bright and you can contol the brightness by the touch of a button on the keyboard.  The high definition audio is really great, as my daughter does love music.  It's also great watching dvd's.  The picture and sound quality are awesome!  The keyboard is really smooth and easy to type on; it is much better than older models.  The mouse pad is not too sensitive like some laptops.  Some laptops if you accidentally touch the mouse pad while your typing it can jump all over the place or you can erase all that you've typed; that's not the case with the mouse pad on the Dell 14 1440 Laptop.  It came with Windows 7 Home Edition and it's really easy to work.

A few kinks to work out yet, but it's a decent PC all in all.

When I got this Dell Inspiron 1440, I was impressed by the size and weight. I wanted a nice light pc since I was going to have to lug it all around campus. In less than 24 hours though, my computer began displaying the "blue screen of death." In other words it was not working...at all. So we called Dell and after talking to them for an inordinate amount of time and trying and retrying a million different things, they said they were sending a new harddrive and two new memory cards, because the problem was one or the other or both. Thankfully the new pieces arrived quickly and I was able to put the thing back together. Since then I have not had any major problems with it. Occasionally it freezes and/or becomes unresponsive, but that usually just requires restarting the pc, which granted is a bit of a pain, but it doesn't happen too often. The only other problem I've had was one time with the internet connection (the pc wasn't accepting any), but after a quick call to Dell and a fast, easy fix, I was back in business again.
