Dell has long been to computer of choice for those looking for an affordable yet reliable and powerful computer and the Dell Dimension E510 tower computer seems to fit that milepost and our community of savvy reviewers mostly agrees. While a couple of reviewers had issues with their Dimension E510’s, the overwhelming sentiment fell along these lines: “I can safely say every penny I spent on this machine was worth it.” Dell built the Dimension E510 around the Intel Pentium 4 processor @ 2.8GHz, and Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition, up to 4.0GB of DDR2 RAM, DVD-ROM drive, wired NIC. And the Dimension E510 is equipped a SATA hard drive with space for an additional drive, and two external 5.25” drive bays. Hello, People; — This PC is a modest version of something cheap. The power is enough to squeeze is just enough to start the PC up and open the email with the Internet explorer. The problems with today's programs are far beyond out fixing abilities. More programs are made to suck the powers out of the computers leaving us little room to do our work. In this E510 version, highest RAM is 4 GB which is very good. From what I have seen on the picture, there are two hard drives in the tower. I like my PC. I have had this desktop for over 2 years and have never had a problem at all with it. it is a little slow at times but has plenty of storage for my everyday use. Bottom-Line: The Dimension E510 Media Center Mini-tower is powerful home workstation that is more then adequate for Media Center duties, but also serves well as a small business server platform. — And so it happened; my ever slowing Pentium III based server finally died on me, and it was not a graceful death. I purchased this computer in August 2007, and it has been absolutely wonderful. I wasn't thrilled with the fact that it came with Vista, and contemplated downgrading to XP, but kept it. I've had no issues, and had fantastic performance. It does take some maintenance to keep it running top notch and virus free, but any computer does. I think a lot of people don't take proper care of their equipment and then blame the manufacturer. I also have a Dell laptop, that's still running strong after nearly 5 years. A very good overall computer. Having a TV tuner in the computer is pretty cool, you can watch TV on the computer and media center lets you schedule and record shows, just like having a DVR but without any monthly fees. Dells are one of the cheapest computers available and you get what you pay for. Dell has consistantly had bad tech support and it has not gotten any better over the years.
